Westbrook is the NBA player I'd chose to compete in a Sport-Off Challenge

He works as well, but there are several to choose from in the NBA, and as a collective there is next level athleticism there comparatively to a bunch of guys running marathons and bicycle kicking every game. Not to say they aren't athletic, because they are. Some other sports are just on another level.

No, I'm saying comparatively to other sports they not in the same ballpark. I do agree they're athletes, but come on, they're not even in the same league as someone like LBJ.
Do you know the cordination you need to have to run with the ball on your feet? The endurance you must posses to be running non stop on a mammoth football pitch for more than 90 minutes with only a 15 minutes break in the middle? Sure, basketball players can jump higher but football players have other athletic traits that basketball players don't have. All in all I would say they're pretty even in terms of athleticism, both are among the most athletic demanding sports in the World.

    2nd level: Football/Rugby, Tennis, Boxing/MMA

I'd say it's one of the most physically demanding sports in the world, which is not the same as athletically demanding. I'm not looking to discount the rigorous nature of the sport of Futbol, but we're talking about being athletic. And I'm not saying Futbol players aren't athletic either. And everyone knows displaying ones athleticism in basketball goes far beyond leaping ability. I'm just saying it's pretty clear in terms of pure athleticism which sport has superior athletes.

So you concede that basketball is ranked ahead, or is your 1st tier at random?

Spur-Addict I usually got your back but your delusion is far from saving here. You're fooling yourself if you're even remotely proposing that soccer players are not athletes.

Oh It still is corrupt you just have to look at the whole Qatar fiasco with Sepp Blatter and the like. Vice on HBO had a good piece on how they're covering up deaths and kickbacks and the like in order to get the country ready for the World Cup.

You're cherry picking. I'm saying across the board, and the upper tier is not even close. Compare LBJ or Westbrook to Messi or Renaldo and it's a landslide. Especially when you start to consider speed to power conversion as there's not many larger players who play Futbol. Look at DeAndre Jordan, despite being way bigger than any Futbol player his athleticism is far greater than the majority of Futbol players.

So you know this how? Are you in some form a Kinesiology expert? Is there some study that you go to that presents this in a definitive matter?

Oh come on man . If this is the path we're going to take (with all due respect) then we should just agree to disagree. But we cannot ignore the eye test, that is very powerful. I don't want to start sounding like Avante here (), but just think about these following players in comparison to a lot of Futbol players out there.

    Blake Griffin
    Dwight Howard
    DeAndre Jordan
    Giannis Ansaelrkjtghdfgjndfgd-BO
    Harrison Barnes
    Eric Bledsoe
    DeMarcus Cousins
    Anthony Davis
    DeMar DeRozan
    Zach Levine
    Aaron Gordon
    Andre Iggydalaaa

This is other worldly athleticism comparatively. (IMO)

Per SportsVU, professional soccer players run 3 to 4 times more than NBA players per game...

    No World Cup

LOL @ the Charles Barkley of Global Football

Half of the Barca squad has more accolades than Neuer. Like my boy Iniesta. 2 Euros and 1 World Cup.

Are you really trying to imply that povertyball players (the biggest floppers and divers in sports) are tougher than basketball players?

I don't understand the povertyball nickname

specially when you consider that priviledged white americans (hipsters) all love "soccer"

and the people that watch handegg are the rednecks and dumb middle class WASPs

black people like basketball, so we should also nickname it welfareball
