tonight saul "cinnamon" canelo will be fighting the local hero, austin native james "mandingo warrior" kirkland at minute maid park in houston.

here we have two fighters who are known for their straight forward styles, power and knockouts. you want to see a knockout? tune in tonight. the last time the most of you saw canelo, he was undressed by mayweather in front of the world.

since the loss, canelo has bounced back with two impressive victory's against trout and lopez.

meanwhile, kirkland has dealt with a lot of demons outside of the ring. two prison stints and hiring and firing his long time trainer anne wolfe. this fight he has decided to go with a unknown trainer out of san antonio, james morones.

my prediction: canelo with a 6th round knockout.

Excited for this one. Canelo has always seemed to be missing something to fully put him in the elite category. He's reluctant to fully let his hands go. His fight with May was so predictable. It's like he's too disciplined.

    Hope Kirkland wins.

Also, local former champ Jesse James leija has a kid making his pro debut. Won't be televised but hope he does well.

I like Canelo, he's a talented guy for his age. He was only 23 with Mayweather, you can't fault him for being dismantled. It's like sending a high school football team against an NFL team.

I think he'll win, he's the future of WW & LMW, I hope he learns to elevate his defense & footwork.

just saw the soto vs gomez undercard was scrapped smh. damn shame too, that would have been a dope fight.

hopefully after this, canelo and kirkland both move up to the 160 class and stop bull ting.

Kirkland got KTFO nasty lmao. He looked amateurish in there squaring up too much, punching himself out, terrible defense.

Canelo looked pretty bad himself. I think Triple G wrecks him.

    Damn.... ing heart by Kirkland!!

Most impressive win for canelo for me. Not for style, but for digging deep and going for the kill. That's the killer instinct I'm looking for from him.

Hard to grade the quality of that victory. Kirkland was open for business from the opening bell. I'm surprised it took that long for him to walk into that uppercut.

This was the fight actual boxing fans were excited about, which is why any 30 seconds of it was better than Pacquiao Mayweather.

Quality not so much, but Sometimes it's just a pleasure to watch some guys takes shots and still show heart.

Mayweather beat up a green Canelo. This version destroys Floyd.

He took some bombs. How he stood that long is a mystery. I questioned his chin after that Japanese kid dismantled him, but it was his defense that failed him, not his chin and not his heart. I'm glad he's okay. That last KO looked like Apollo Creed in Rocky IV.
