He was such a great player, bummer he screwed up so bad. Note the names on the '84 draft at the end :
He's one of only four NBA players who has achieved a Quadruple Double. DROB, Thurman, Dream and Alvin. Tim was so damn close in the 2003 Finals!, I still haven't forgiven Pop for not trying. Tim wasn't even aware of it.
Such a rare feat for such any NBA player and Alvin will probably be remembered for his life sentence(s).

Tim played 46 minutes in game 6. Did you expect Pop to play him 48?
Lol, the clueless announcer says "20 pts, 10 rebounds, 10 assists and 10 steals..for Robertson and he has his 1st quadruple double tonight." He said it with as much enthusiasm as if it was a ho-hum stat or triple-double.
Nico's the man. I've known him since we were young punks.
The announcer probably earned $5.00 an hour back then.
Lol, you're probably right. Did you got to Central Catholic by any chance?
Alvin Roberston got the beaten out of him in the county jail today. (Not the first time, from what I understand.) I don't like any of the things he did, but they didn't sentence the guy to be stuck in a little room and beaten. If that's what should happen, get a judge to sentence him to it. But don't turn things over to some other heel in the jail.
Just for the record, those who thought Little Nico was a good choice, just because a bunch of Spurs players play poker with him... think again. The SA criminal justice system is in serious disarray.
STREET JUSTICE
There is justice and then there is street justice. You can escape the first, but seldom do you escape the second.
Alvin was a gifted player - saw him a few times at the Hemisfair Arena.
He's got a lot of demons inside of him.
What a waste.
That was a trade....Brick was a beast under the basket......another Red "neck" McCombs move....to add salt to the wound we got two crappy hasbeens in David Greenwood and Sidney Green
Kevin Willis
Jerome Kersey
Former Spurs and Champions!!!!
LMAO Barkley and Stockton No Rings!!!!!!!!
was it on the news?????
Alvin Robertson, I hope someone slits his throat in the county jail after he pimped out that girl. What was she, 12 or 14?
McCombs was easily the worst owner in franchise history. I'll never forgive him for letting Strickland walk for nothing and then getting cheap ass got Vinny Del Negro to replace him. The single move doomed the Spurs for Robinson's entire prime, they never found another point guard until Parker in 2001. And how the do you turn down pairing prime Barkley with prime Robinson next to young Strickland and young Elliott? If the Spurs had Holt instead of McCombs back then they would have probably gotten a ring or two, especially since Robinson owned Jordan until 95-96.
Yeah we had Money to get Barkley Red was just a cheap as mother er.... THAT REDNECK!!!!
How did you find out about this?
This needs to go public.
The last thing this city/county needs is a crappy DA.
Wasn't Larry Brown responsible for having Brick shipped out? Brown was and probably still is the ultimate "tinkerer" when it comes to messing with rosters.
As for letting Strickland walk, I thought that was on Bob Bass who was the GM at the time.
Larry Brow was responsible for the Brick/Pressey trade. As you mentioned, Larry was the ultimate tinkerer. Brick would have been more useful.
The Strickland move I always thought was a combo of Bass and McCombs. Red not wanting to pay and Bass thinking he was easily replaceable.
Bass was a cheap bas
I hated that 1991 team......."we want it now" LOL that ing t-shirt a hand reaching for a ring if you owned that shirt you were a loser!!!!
what a ed up slogan for that year for a mediocre team
I think they certainly get at least one ring with just Strickland.
But if they put that team together as you mentioned, they end up somewhere different in the 1997 draft. I'd rather have the Duncan era as it's played out.
All's well that ends well
After the 95 WCF exit who would have thought 20 years later the Spurs would have 5 rings
Seeing DRob go out with his second ring was really great- one of my favorite moments
The Strickland thing had a lot to do with things that were going on off the floor with him, too.
He held out at the beginning of the 1991-92 season and didn't play until Christmas that year. He broke his hand during the 1990-91 season in a fight outside of a bar and missed about 6 weeks. He had an indecent exposure charge against him in Seattle in April 1991.
Strickland also tends to get a pass on his role in the loss to the Warriors in 1991, but after Game 1 of that series, when he had 30-9-13 on 60% from the floor, he was pretty pedestrian after that in a series where he had to be good.
Strickland was a , but like others have said, was the best PG the Spurs had until the young Tony Parker showed up on the scene.
