It amazes me that people actually think he's always been short for words with his teammate when that's really the opposite in his college days and HS days.

I've been following Kawhi since his senior year in HS and he's actually a very vocal player.

his personality right now is probably all an act...that or there is also the issue of being overlly vocal when you're playing with the best PF ever, top 10 SG of all time and top 20 PG of all time...He's also benefiting from his "shy" rep so there's that.

realistically, we will probably see a more vocal kawhi once tim and manu retires.

i'm one of the few here who actually followed kawhi from his freshman year in college and i'm also one of the real spurs fans left we have on this site. with that said, kawhi in college is different from the kawhi in the nba, personality wise. he's always been reserved, but i saw more emotion and an edgier player.

in order for him to take the next step in his development, he needs to get that dog back in him. you can't rock cornrows and be passive. he needs to play dirty, talk some after hitting a huge bucket, dunk and flex his muscles. i know pop and the classy spurs fan base don't like that, but it. this league is getting younger and you have to adapt with the times. kawhi needs to stop the quiet guy act and not be afraid to speak up and lead the team.
