Instead of ing about things why don't you start intelligent threads. And quit relating player bashing with critiquing. Yes, there are a few posters that do nothing but bash a specific player. That is why there is an ignore option.
Lol, actually a pretty decent analogyI was fine with some of the trolling at first, and it's still occasionally funny, but has gotten way out of hand at this point. I've said before that I'm all down for trolling and that forums that are heavily moderated and 100% serious aren't nearly as enjoyable...but damn this place has just gotten ridiculous
Unfortunately I don't see it stopping any time soon. Even if Parker improves and plays better next year, he'll still likely get hate for not playing up to his contract or for how garbage he was in 2015.
I don't really care enough to go out and find another Spurs forum that would likely just be a bunch of uptight delusional homers, but I do hope that here gets cleaned up a little at some point and the trolling dies down a bit.

No. This is the only sports forum i've ever been to where you can openly criticize the star players and not get banned by homer got mods. For that reason, actual bball discussion DOES happen, advanced metrics are brought up to prove points, etc. Tony Parker really has been complete this past year and i don't think he'll ever be his old self again. That contract is RJesque.
I love this site but there's truth here. My favorite threads now unfortunately are when someone post a link for coach Nick breakdown. There's usually a lot of legit strategy talk in those threads. It's cool, there used to be a lot of that.
But not so much anymore. But with all that said, I just have to manually filter out all the crap to find the good which there still some good here. But not as much as before.

I used to love this forum but it has turned into a clown show.
See, the thing is, you can do those things without flooding the forum and dedicating damn near 100% of your posts to harping on the same things.
I think Parker has average in the '14 regular season, and he's been garbage since the '14 playoffs. I'm well aware of what the advanced metrics saw about him. I'm absolutely terrified at the prospect of giving him $40+ million over the next 3 years. I think if Pop didn't play Parker so much and gave Mills his minutes, we could've won vs. LAC. I have no problems saying these things, and saying those things doesn't make you a "Parker hater" or anything along those lines.
It gets ridiculous when you start making several topics daily and turn every thread into the same old . At some point you just have to give it up. We get it; Parker has been dog over the past year and a half. What new or interesting insight is being brought up at this point? Absolutely none. It's just the same in every topic.
Again, yes, I find some of it funny. But like just about anything in life, even a little moderation goes a long way. Something might be funny the first 2 or 3 times, but after the 50th time? No thanks.
^agree, we need the mods to bundle everything into one "bash tony parker here" thread, some people need to find a hobby other than watching basketball because they act like Tony's bad play is affecting their personal lives or some .
That's my biggest complaint... every thread is about the exact same thing, or quickly becomes about it. If there was a Mod to just sticky a Tony Parker thread and let everyone talk about that there, this forum would be 100x's better.

I think we all agree Parker sucks this year. Why making every threads about it? Like why constant bashing of Manu after the 2013 finals? It doesn't need to be discussed in every single threads... And why bashing Kawhi in response to Parker bashing? It just ruins the place
A lot of great contributors are gone: TimVP, Kori, Bruno, Solid D, Duncan228 etc... are the obvious ones but a tons of others have left while the spurs are still relevant
No one talk BBall anymore and when one try, the thread is ruined with smiley responses and useless bashing.
I understand that Timvp and Kori have moved to their family and Bruno got tired to be the only moderator but this place is really dying. Or will only become a trolling place (not that far already).
When I read a thread theses days, half the replies are on my ignore list so I won't have the joy to read all theresponses
Before people announced they leaved spurstalk and they were made fun of it. Now they just leave. Too bad it used to be a great forum

If everyone just placed the people that did like this on ignore, you'd be left with a really great discussion board.

OVER moderation is actually what killed this forum a few years back. They had some loose bolts in charge. I won't name names.

Other places where you cant say Porker sucks because you are downgrading their god so you get banned and they keep building greats storys about the best PG ever and things like that, this is not the best place maybe but at least here we can say PORKER SUCKS THE NUMBERS DONT LIE!

I like that idea of creating the spurs war room. when I first started out, I remember being referred to the think tank pretty often. I think the war room would be a good place to refer a lot of the non trolling, problem posters. complaining is cool, I complain about pop and rc plenty. But Bonner and Parker suck threads are different from Splitter is hurt again threads.
Over moderated? Must have missed those years because the owners, Kori and TimVP, took a lot of pride in the fact that virtually anything could be said or posted on here. We used to have some female fan posters but they got run out by the nasties. Too bad because it was interesting to see a woman's perspective on basketball and the Spurs.
The worst I ever saw here was when some idiot put a GIF on his permanent signature of a naked guy skateboarding down a public street while defecating. I (and maybe some others) contacted Kori and it was taken down. I don't know if the poster was banned, but the level of sop ric bathroom humor on this board is pathetic. If you express a point of view differing from someone, then they don't bother to refute it, just call you a got as if that was some kind of magic point-winner. Or it could get to the really intelligent level of "if you don't like it, then just grease up each other's fist and jerk each other off." (Now that's a really adult response. I don't know how to 'beat' that one.)
I've got three player-fans on my ignore list now and some threads have half of the comments by these bozos and I'm sure most of them aren't even about the thread but about their Messiah or hating on other Spurs. And of course I never go to the threads they start. Why waste my time?
