Came in here hoping for something new to watch, but I guess I've already seen all the good horror movies.

You're Next was an overrated piece of . It's not 'scary' at all, just a bunch of hipsters attempting to parody the slasher genre and failing miserably

Another good one. Must see it twice though. It's a little varied.
Yeah and it's been stolen a few times by this or that director.

Yep, it's awfully grim. Just pathetic. A lot like "Funny Games."

The Strangers. Only movie that I lost sleep over. Watched all the supernatural and ll that mess but none ever scared me. Something about the Strangers that gives me the chills when I watch it.
Big horror movie fan, Went to see it in the theaters had some good scares. Watched it on DVD a couple of times since , it isn't as good. Still better than most horror movies in the past decade

As a little kid, the remake of Night of the Living Dead scared the out of me. Legit couldn't sleep and spent an hot summer night under covers sweating like crazy.
Didn't like the original but I was born 25-30 years after it came out. The remake was much better imo.

No. Sure, once the jig is up and the squalid intent of the masked killers is presented the frost is off the pumpkin, yes, but, there are nuances that upon retrospection are well stated. This is a family in extreme turmoil and crisis. The father has failed as the patriarch and he's bitter at himself and his children. The mother is disappearing before our very eyes withdrawing from the light and into a house that is huge and soulless. And the children "bite & claw" one another in bits & pieces.

Only then does the killing commence.

The Iden y is a legit scary movie imho. It's not like there're many lurid scenes in it, but the fright is solid when you don't even know who's the murderer and who's gonna get killed next.

Do you mean the movie with John Cusack? It's just, "Iden y". I don't remember it being scary but that was a good movie. I need to rewatch that one.

I remember it, but, I don't enjoy movies that are chronically vague like that. It makes me restless and aggravated.

Also I don't like Cusack pudgy and I don't like Cusack as a bad guy. I like Cusack thin and young and upstanding like in "Stand By Me." And that's it.

What about Better Off Dead? That's the Cusack wheelhouse imo.

Never saw it. I remember him early on in "Grifter" and it's a splendid film, even though it has some real darkness in it.

When I was a kid it was Poltergeist. The scene where his face melts off. And the kid with the braces outta control.

The clown part was eery, too. That one is still a scary movie. I hate that they're re-booting it.

And in this case the remake trumps the initial entry. A stellar cast comes forth, lending strong credence to a tired vehicle. The highlight? The young husband, now a fresh widower is face ass down when he is risen, only his wedding ban--half buried in dirt lights the frame(s) of this scene.

Whereas in the original it's not personal, it's just mindless rampaging. In the remake---it's personal,,,there is calculation & hesitation and it's key to make "us" forget the old & straighten in our seats for this one.

    ---

And the (Rejects) is a powerful lead off of 30 minutes that is grand movie making on any genre. Only the principals are seen clearly, but, there is so much going on in the shadows, and we don't miss anything.

It burns out after the half hour and loiters the mediocre but it's forgiven. We got the 30 minutes and nobody can take it away.

this is a pretty underrated one. i remember even the trailers were pretty in creepy. the one where one of the masked people sorta fades in and fades out of the kitchen.

the worst part was, i saw that movie before i had my drivers license, so when i saw that with a friend, we walked about 2 miles to the movie theater, and had to walk back at night, and in between the theater and my house is a bigass park with a bunch of trees. at nighttime, it looked a lot like the backyard from the movie

Yep, those kind of scenes made this movie. There is another where either the husband or her are in the living room and one of the killers is in the background and they don't know it.

Not a fan of horror flicks but my brother and mom are so I ended watching more than I would've liked. It, was probably the only one that really scared though. Creepy ass movie.
