Took you, a noted Marvel fanboi that long to figure that out? You're slipping.
I liked AOU. I would have done away with the Hulk Black Widow thing. Not necessary.
I loved Ultron through most of the movie but the last fight seen was a bit of a disappointment for how easily he was beaten. Even in the first avengers there was about 20 seconds where they looked like they were starting to struggle with the sheer numbers of the aliens. In this one, it was never in doubt.
Yeah, the whole defeat of Ultron was too fast..James Spader is fast becoming the villain type and that is a good thing.
Another thing though, I think Ultron was portrayed too weak and then it felt like most of his influence and power were gone when the twins decided to gtfo his side
I guess. However, they had to water down Ultron's power since it would take the shine of Thanos' impending inclusion. I think they could've shorten his search for adamantium and delve more into his lack of empathy. I think James Spader was a great choice as Ultron but they could've used more to showcase his awesomeness as a villain.
Solid movie. It seems like everything is falling in place with the Infinity War and gems.
why is ultron a pussy? he has access to all the of the worlds infrastructure, why didnt he just release the nukes?
uh it was explained in the movie why he couldn't...did you not watch it?
I liked the movie... but as I feared a few years ago, the MCU is getting pretty crowded. And we haven't even introduced Antman, Dr Strange, Black Panther, Spiderman, Captain Marvel, and who knows what else. I thought the first Avengers film was pretty balanced, that's going to be harder to do with the inclusion of all these other characters.
As some of them get their own movie, we won't need to see as much of them in a bigger film like the Avengers. Scarlet Witch won't need 20 minutes of movie time in the next Avengers. If anything, I think the next Avengers movie will need to spend more time building up the villain.
I was going to make a bullet point breakdown of what I liked and disliked about the movie, but instead I'll keep it simple: having all of these characters crammed into one movie doesn't really enhance the enjoyment. Cap 2 had Cap and BW, and its action scenes were way more intense. I will be surprised if the MCU doesn't collapse under its own weight by the time Infinity Wars 2 comes out.
IW is a 2 part movie
And the Russos will direct it, not that emo got Whedon
I'm not worried
I put "2" behind "Infinity Wars" for a reason. And if you think Whedon is to blame for this movie's failures, you are naive. Marvel movies have become a product; each one has to hit certain plot points to expand the MCU. Whedon did what he could while meeting Marvel's demands. Sure, some of his jokes didn't work, but the overstuffed nature of the movie was beyond his control. He's probably just as glad as you are that he won't be doing anymore Avengers movies.
Didn't see 2 lol
Whedon isn't completely to blame, but I was a bit disappointed with Ultron
I did like the "human", flawed aspect of Ultron and his teeneger tantrums
But Ultron is also supposed to kick the Avengers' asses by himself and we didn't see that.
I felt that they beat him too easily in the end
Whedon did get Vision and SW right though, and HE was finally the comics HE, thumbs up
finally saw Avengers:Age of Lefty yesterday. biggest issues were I thought the effects were more dodgy than part 1, the sound mix at my theater seemed off, and some nignog let his kid keep making noise. everyone kept telling him to be quiet until people near him got the manager involved. typical.
I actually dug it though. I liked it as much as the first, maybe more. all these films are somewhat corny but entertaining to me, so this was no different. It visually looked better than the first imo. Agree about the editing, the last reel or two felt way too compressed, this thing needs more breathing room.
I like the connections with Olsen/Johnson from Godzilla, Spader/Downey from Less than Zero, Downey/Ruffalo from my favorite Zodiac. Marvel has done a good job casting these imo.
if ppl were willing to pay to watch a 2 or 3 part series of a single movie aka harry potter or lotr...
then why didnt marvel think putting a +3hr movie into 2 parts would be feasible when ppl have no problems paying to go watch it...since the amount of money its gross from its previous hero movies are making money....
heck even GOTG, i didnt watch it or heard about them characters b4, yet ppl still went to watch it out of curiosity
Awesome fake Age of Ultron post-credit scene :

The next Avengers movie will have two parts.
They've messed up spiderman so many times I honestly don't think his character in the movies will ever recover.
Saw it last night at the Bullock. Enjoyable but clunky. I understand what everyone is saying about the editing. A lot of set ups didn't seem to pay off as would be expected in a Whedon film. Tie-ins for CA3, BP and Infinity War were just as inartful.
Yeah
the part where Ultron called out Thor and ripped him outta the plane, I thought we were in for an epic fight a la TWS, or at least iron man Thor from avengers 1.
3/10
caveat i am not a comic fanboi.
bunch of crap blowing up in mindless overdone fashion. Some pretty cool FX in between but mostly overdone.
cheesy lines
Scarlet Johansen looking more mannish all the time. Sleeping with some Hollywood to get parts?
Couple crappy actors playing Eurotrash along with the usual Phonywood staples.
It does finally end.
