Don't blame, pop, he was coaching injured... oh wait
Wasting TD's best chance to repeat.
This season was proof that regular seasons matter. I don't the Spurs ever recovered mentally from all those ed-up OT losses early in the season.
Still, it looked like they might be poised to turn a corner in the postseason. And then Pop played his ill-conceived hack strategy in game 6 and it was all over.
Miscalculations matter.
lol people who trying to downgrade this miss oportonity and giving it away job...
Idk, I kind of lost faith when we lost that must win game against the Pelicans. I figured if we couldn't handle an 8th seed when we needed to the most, how well would we fair against the other top West teams. The only team I actually would feel comfortable with us facing was GS. I had no confidence facing Houston. I wasn't too sure how we would match up against the Clippers. All I knew was losing that last game against the Pelicans killed us in the seedings. Wasn't confident running the table as a 6th seed out West.
It was of course looking good for a repeat before Tiago went down at the end of the season. Whatever momentum we had was lost. It came down to the last second of a Game 7 and the refs letting the Clips see the play. We won't be repeating in the Tim era. We were just the most winning team in all team sports. That measure of excellence is hard to complain about.
Who cares, after the pain of 6 I never thought we'd see 5, but it happened. #setforlife
This wasn't his best chance to repeat, that was in 2006.
There will be a huge movie about this that will take the place of Hoosiers for another generation.![]()
6. Worst collapse in major professional sports history.
The basketball version of Rangers/Cardinals 6
Spurs were playing below their potential, the Clippers above theirs. As a result, the Rockets will be in the conference finals. LOL
Clipper playoff meltdown...predictable.
Beating the Spurs in the 1st round remains that franchises great achievement - EVER.
The epic failure was from his mom and the test tube.
Nobody could had predicted that their bench scrubs would all of the sudden turn into all-stars during our series.
Sadly anyone could have predicted that the Spurs couldn't be bothered to repeat. Their being so tired and all, or what was their excuse again?
Next year would have been the year to 3peat, and so on and so forth.
Your 40 year old players won a ring last year.
Get over it.
It's bad. Really bad....
But, is it the Yankees blowing a 3-0 series lead bad?

Oops you're right. That's worse![]()
