Has anybody seen or know where to find footage of Peter Holt's reaction to winning the Duncan sweepstakes? I can't find it anywhere, tbh.

Thanks for the pics. It seems a bit strange that there's video footage of almost every single draft lottery in the past 20 years except for 1997... I found 1990-96 and then 1999-last years... And even a few in the 80's.
Funny that RC has never been to the lottery. I wonder if he would be excited to win the 1st pick or embarrassed to be there to begin with.
And I found this "gem" of journalism from today about the ´85 lottery:
The Frozen Envelope: The NBA's Greatest Conspiracy Theory
That's because 97 was rigged.
Undoubtedly. The greatest boon to the league was putting a relatively bland superstar in a very small market and then having to deal with the implications of trying to market that championship-caliber team to the world.
Of course, assuming you're right, some around here would tell you that the rigging of the 1997 lottery led to the rigging of NBA games by the referees between 2000 and 2004. So, really, one great conspiracy then begot another. The league was really busy back then.
There's a quick shot of it on the '99 championship DVD at about the 8 minute mark.

Do you have even a single logical conspiracy theory as to why the NBA would want a can't-miss mega all star like Tim Duncan in a small market?
Because that makes zero sense. More like 1997 is one of the few times they decided not to rig where a can't-miss mega star player went.
Here's some video of the draft.

Pop said that he dropped his burger the moment he knew they won the lottery
