Tim's 15th All-Defense selection. No other player has more than 12.
good that davis got owned, he is overrated.
Anybody that takes all-NBA teams seriously needs to look at the voting, tbh
Look at some of those nameseven Manu got a vote
..
If Duncan makes an All-NBA team, he'll have 15 All-NBA and 15 All-Defense selections, putting him first or tied for first all-time in each category.
so then what defines a great player? all star voting is a joke and now you're claiming all nba teams are also?
Both well-earned. Congrats to Timmy the Gawd and Kawhi![]()
DeAndre being 1st team All-Defense is pretty terrible. Butler really didn't deserve to be selected either; his defense declined this year as his offensive role increased.
Bogut should've been 1st team center, and Gobert should've been 2nd team center. Butler's spot should've been given to either Wes Matthews, Danny, Iguodala, or even Khris Middleton.

Helping your team win games, period...regardless of whether that results in awards or accolades or not. Kobe has the most all-star selections of all-time, most all-NBA selections, and 2nd most all-defense selections. Do you think he's a top 3 player of all-time or something?
These awards are nice and all, and I'm not going to say they're straight up meaningless, but they really shouldn't be used in arguments or debates for why one player is better than another. All-star selections are voted in by casual fans and you need to look no further than Kobe being selected the past few years to see why that's flawed. All-NBA and All-Defense selections are voted on by media who are prone to looking at reputation rather than what's actually been going on that season. Again, Kobe has the 2nd most all-defense selections out of any player in NBA history. He was an amazing defender for some of those, but towards the end he started getting selected strictly based off reputation. Look at LeBron. He won all-defense 2nd team last year when he was clearly coasting for the majority of the season and exerting minimal effort on defense![]()
So then a player with zero all nba teams is a great player?![]()
I didn't expect Danny green to get picked, but his total points are really low. He was good this season as usual.
Danny and Manu got votes as well. Unless I missed it, Tiago shut out.
Where did I say that?I said that helping your team win games is what makes a player great, not the awards/accolades that typically (but not always) come with playing great.
Great players typically win these awards, yes. I already said that they're not completely meaningless. But some people act like getting an all-defensive selection is a guarantee that X player was great on defense that year. Kobe won all-defense in 2012 and he was mediocre at best.
Look at what Jimmy Butler himself has said about his defense this year:
http://espn.go.com/nba/story/_/id/12...ffling-defense
"I think it starts with me, to tell you the truth,'' Butler said before Wednesday's 101-90 loss to the Houston Rockets. "I'm supposed to be this prime-time defender and I don't think I've been holding up my end of the bargain lately. So I think whenever I start kicking it up three, four notches on defense and not worry about offense as much, I think it'll all turn around.''
http://espn.go.com/chicago/nba/story...fensive-energy
"I have," Butler said. "I'll stay on us about it. I'm supposed to be the prime-time defensive guy, and I haven't been guarding a soul. I've been worried about offense too much, and I need to change that quickly or it's going to be my fault."
Butler won this year not because he was a great defender this season, but because he's been a great defender in previous years. His defense clearly fell off this season as a result of his offensive role increasing, but he still made all-defense 2nd team because of reputation.
Poor LeBron didn't make either team.Oh well, the hair transplants are holding in...
i dont know, you tell me
