Missing two playoffs is better than losing in the finals?
And that's all I (well anybody) can ask as a fan. Take your lumps when you lose. Did the Spurs lose in spectacular fashion in '13....you're gd right we did. Not trying to deny it ever happened...we all know it did. And you of all people should feel blessed it did. Cubs, do you know how many 6>5 replies you would get? It would drive a man to drink.
I just had a problem with you saying that the Lakers missing the playoffs somehow "trumped" losing in the Finals. Not where I come. It just doesn't work like that.
Missing two playoffs is better than losing in the finals?
After you already won that Finals, absolutely.
In this case, yeah. Randle + Okafor> season of false hopes
Enjoy the draft then.
The Spurs won a le after that "season of false hopes"
The Lakers played Randle 14 minutes in his rookie season, are not sure to draft Okafor, and Okafor is a below average defender in an age when big men are asked to man the paint and pass the ball.
Nevermind then. I honestly didn't read the rest. Carry on![]()
You still have that Pacer foreheaded Bryant and you're upside down on it.
So then losing in the 1st round is better than whomever loses in the Finals, and better than who lost in the 2nd round.
You're sideways again.,

Those are your words, dad.
anyway, i fail to understand, why would they want to go to the one team that values young players the least.
You said missing the playoffs is better than losing in the Finals as long as you won a ring the year prior, so is missing the playoffs better than losing in the 1st round if the 1st round loser won a ring in the year prior as well? What about if the ring winner from the previous season lost in the Finals, is that better than missing the playoffs as a ring winner?
You're standards are sloppy, Dale, and that's the name of that tune.
Y'all lost to the en Clippers in the first round of the playoffs with all of your best players healthy. To have KL and Pop (1000x better what we have) disproves your talk. No defending champion EVER shined shoes after playing the Clippers in the playoffs. Maybe your silver and black glasses need a new prescription.![]()
Quick question, Bernardo: would you describe the Lakers as "back in the hunt"?![]()
No. That ain't what I said.

They have the #2 pick in the draft. Jordan Clarkson made 1st team all rookie team. Randle was highly touted coming out of UK but he's injured - still a question mark. In an ideal world, these 3 grows together (for the record I want Okafor). They have cap space right now. Kobe and his $25M KT is (presumably) coming off the books after this year.
This is (potentially) a great situation for us. Pieces can be added with cap space. I'm interested to see what MK does going forward.
But are they back in the hunt? Quit dodging the question, sn.
You lost to the en Clippers. KL the bed against Matt en Barnes when it counted. Jim was your best player. At 39, that's not good for the Spurs' long-term future. Manure has a year, maybe two left. TP's jumper is good, but he's not blowing by everybody every night, and his health is slowly failing him.
Your boys are on the clock and father time is undefeated.
- I'm reserving judgment until I see what MK does with this opportunity. We have the opportunity to take some steps. Let's see what they do.
What does that (wrong) opinion have to do with anything? This is a Lakers thread..La fans keep bringing up the Spurs.
But the fact is LA has been terrible while the Spurs are competing for and winning les. Even if father time has caught up (like you say every year) how come SA is still going to the WCF, Finals and playoffs while LA is a cliffnote?
Spurs are in a much better spot because they are a) a better franchise b) have a great coach c) have stability d) at least have one young piece that is promising.
Lakers have none of that and the Lakers bottom is so far worse than the Spurs bottom (losing in the playoffs in defense of a le the year before vs being a lottery team).
And losing your 1st 5th.
DMC already poked all the holes in your logic. You are free to keep spouting it - that is what ST is here for. It gives you a voice even if no one cares.
