I agree which is why anything lebron does doesn't impress me much.
Sons, I've never seen this in my life. For the last 5 years, every team outside of whatever team Lebron is in is a D-league team. Every single series is a crap shoot outside of whatever team Lebron is in. No matter how ty I've seen the NFL's AFC or NFC be its never been a cakewalk, nor the NHL's conferences, or previous years in the NBA. This is the first time it's literally a cakewalk for any team that is half decent which only happens to be the Cavs.
In the 90's, the Western Conference was pretty pathetic and I remember all the EC fans saying it will be decades before the West wins a le. But there were still a decent level of compe ion like the Rockets of Hakeem's era, Clyde's Blazers, Karls Jazz, and Del Harris' Lakers. But this is just different, it's like any B+ level team can easily go to the top to the NBA finals.
You have to hand it to dad killer, he won 6 times in an era where the Eastern Conference was stacked. No bull , those teams in the East were nothing to with.
I agree which is why anything lebron does doesn't impress me much.
We gonna act like DK didn't need one of the most stacked teams in the history of sports and one of the greatest coaches in history to ring?
DK on the Bulls without MVPippen to carry him: 108-138 record, 2-9 playoffs
Meanwhile, LeBron is dragging the likes of Friend Killer, James Jones, and Dellavedova to the Finals
Magic's Lakers routinely played in some of the worst conferences in league history from what I've heard..nobody remembers the cir stances of winning, tbh..
I still give Lebron props for dragging this team to the finals. Im just stating the obvious. The Eastern Conference is in horrific shape right now. How easily would this years Clippers have made it to the ECF? Quite easily
LOL yeah
The Cavs look mighty capable to me, Eve.
I have never heard any analyst downplay Magic's rings, or downplay Duncan's lockout ring, or Kobe winning when KG got hurt in 2009, etc..nobody gives a about how you win, as long as you do, sports fans and media are pretty stupid, tbh..
Only pussies and assholes blame injuries and lockouts and conference difficilty and officiating
Just look at some of the murderers' rows that the Showtime Lakers had to go through:
1983-84: Kings (38-44), Mavs (43-39), Suns (41-41)
1984-85: Suns (36-46), Blazers (42-40), Nuggets (52-30, but played absolutely no defense even by '80s standards)
1985-86: Spurs (35-47), Mavs (44-38), Rockets (51-31; first time they played anything close to a legit team in years and they lost in 5)
1986-87: Nuggets (37-45), Warriors (42-40), Sonics (39-43) - easily the most pathetic road to a le in the history of the NBA, probably even in the history of sports
1987-88: Got to play a Spurs team that was 20 games under .500 in the first round
"But, but, LeBron deserves an asterisk because the East is so weak!"

I said it first. Me
Wasnt the 80s East stacked with great teams, too IIRC?
Yeah, at least the Celtics had to face the Sixers, Hawks, and Bucks.
I dont think Lebron deserves criticism tbh, he's on another level. I think he's a great player, I think more of my point was that the Eastern Conference is depressing to watch now. It used to be worth while to watch but now its like basically watching a bunch of pigs waiting for the butcher (Lebron) to arrive.
2000-2002
Sixers, Nets & Nets was worse
Ya, 2003, as well, I think people forget how bad those Eastern Conferences were..
Has there ever been a tier Finals roster than this?

Dont forget that Pistons team later on.
I know it's a "division" and not a conference but:
Shout out to the NFC South.
Iverson's Sixers is the measuring stick I use. They actually traded Kukoc to acquire Ratliff after Mutombo went down
Toni went on to average 19.7 PPG on a blistering 48% from 3point in the final 17 games of the season on the Hawks
Magic team
- Alston & Nelson PG combo
- Lee & Re SG combo
- Turk with long Pietrus on defense
- Gortat, Howard, Lewis spreading the floor
I like the team. Thought they blew the Lee layup gimmie and then Fisher elbow not called. That series should have gone 7
Splits was baiting. Thank god you knew what that Magic team was all about.
Everyone should also know that team set a record for most three's in a game; 23. Nelson was also literally the rest of the 42 games..plus playoffs. Most of all, that team eliminated LeBron James in the so called best season the Cavaliers had, 66-16. Had that team been retained plus the acquisition of Carter with a combo of Hedo, that team would have been dominant. But...Hedo wanted cash.
All those players were part of a revolutionary system......the stretch four. The Magic made that what it is today with Rashard playing that role. Stan Van Gundy created that system for the Magic. Now its been perfected by the major coaches and teams. Even LeBron utilizes it himself. Hedo Turkoglu played the role that LeBron played when Hedo was with the Magic. He was the facilitator and even played point for the Magic. LeBron is just a billionaire's version of Hedo Turkoglu. That's it.
The Heat used Rashard in a similar role on the Heat and the Cav's are using Love for that exact role. Of course the casual fans will always impulsively say "Magic had to be the worst...'Insert'" because when you want to blurt ignorant condescending bull about random team, it won't be a team that won it all or isn't in a major market, that's for sure.
It's pretty ty, but if Lebron beats what is looking like a historically great Warriors team (who aren't having much trouble in the Western Conference), that's a ironclad legit le. Much like the Showtime Lakers. They feasted on garbage teams in the West, but still had to face some great teams in the Finals.
Me too, old man, & Blatt goin' thru Georgia like Sherman (man & tank) has been a revelation.
Look at ya, brand new suit looking like a million bucks. Hometown about to scratch, eh?
Just make sure Jose Mesa ain't within a state of Quicken Loans.
Stacked? No ing way, New York was and led by a choker and Indiana didn't get that good until 1998. Detroit fell off a cliff after 90-91. Orlando was good for two years before Shaq left, but one of those was baseball year for dad killer. If NY made the Finals in 92 or 93 they would have gotten waxed by Portland or Phoenix. No way any East team other than Chicago beats the 96 Sonics. Then the Heat in the late 90s were the same as NY in the early 90s, no offense and led by chokers. I think Indy beats Utah in 98, but Miami in 97? I doubt it.
