I can't listen to any one thing for too long, I don't care what it is. That's why I own a wide variety of stuff. Some times it's just gotta be that country, others them blues, then I gotta have some Harry Manz or Hans Thessnik. I'll get in a Stones mood . or a Beatles, or a Buddy Holly. Other times it's Tosh and Marley.
Always good to see some simple litle like you widen those tiny horizons. Come to the realization that all that stupid rap crap is zeroing in on the stupid black kid. You are being used little guy.
Anyway....
I accidently stumbled across this band a few months across, how I didn't know about them (they have obviously been around) is a mystery to me.
Extend those perimeters little man.

We started seeing the first recorded country (white blues) in the late 1920's. Jimmie Rodgers and The Carter Family get credit for being the first but that is debatable. What isn't is the success they had.
Frank Hutchison. Doggs Boggs, Clarence Ashley, Gene Autry, The Skillet Lickers, Bob Wills and His Texas Playboys were a bunch of hillbillies/cowboys that need to be heard by anyone into the origins of country music.
But....
While all those I mentioned played prior to 1940, it is this cat that probably made the biggest impact and in my opinion (others) is the "Da Man" when it comes to country music.
This is in my opnion one of music's greatest tunes. Very unique sound for the times and is just as cool today.
You cannot talk country and not mention this one.
While Patsy Cline is considered the queen of country she wasn't the first female star of the music, that would be.....
