    Regular season numbers:
    #1 in VORP, WS/48
    #2 in BPM
    #3 in PER, RAPM
    #4 in TS%(ridiculous)

    Playoff numbers:
    #1 in VORP, WS/48, BPM
    #2 in PER
    62% TS
Best teammates: Green/Thompson(16.3 PER each, 1.1/0.6 VORP)
Probably going to join the illustrious Regular Season MVP + Finals MVP in the same season group(3rd guard to do it with DK and Magic)

Has any guard been better since DK?

    2008 Kobe
    RS numbers:
    #2 in PPG(58% TS)
    #3 in VORP
    #6 RAPM

    Playoffs:
#3 in VORP, #3 in PER
Best teammates: Gasol/Odom(19/16 PER, 1.3/0.9 VORP)

    2006 Kobe
    RS numbers:
35 PPG(56% TS) one of the highest PPG totals of all-time
    #1 in PPG
    #3 PER
    #5 VORP
    #11 in RAPM

    Playoffs:
    20 PER, 28 PPG on 59% TS
    lost in 1st round

    2006 Wade
    RS numbers:
    #3 in VORP, BPM
    #4 in PER
    #5 in RAPM

    Playoffs:
    #1 in BPM, VORP
    #3 in PER, WS/48
Arguably the greatest Finals series in NBA history

    2003 McGrady
    RS numbers:
#1 in PER, PPG, WS/48, BPM
    #2 in VORP
    #6 in RAPM

    Playoffs:
    32 PPG on 56% TS
Lost in 1st round after being up 3-1
    Best teammates: Drew Gooden/Darrell Armstrong

Any of Nash's seasons? 2008 Chris Paul?

By the numbers, it looks like McGrady had by far the best regular season, and Wade probably had the best playoffs, but has Curry had the greatest overall year for a guard since prime DK? He has sustained his dominance in the playoffs, doesn't have a conventional #2 best player, and has put up historic numbers for his position, too..

nah, he's a wannabe kobe and one of the most overrated players in the league, and any team trying to build a contender around him will fail

^^ To be fair to DMC, his judgment of Curry was the Mark Jackson ISO version, tbh..

DMC was just the wannabe kobe part
apa was the "one of most overrated players" guy
sook was the "anybody building a contender around him will fail" guy

and 90% of this forum was operating under the assumption that he'd be exploited in the playoffs

I know McGrady played a lot of SG and obviously had guard skills, but he was always more of an SF defensively, so I'd classify him more as a point forward than I would a guard in the grand scheme of things.

Regular season, I still think '08 and '09 Paul is the best pure PG I've ever seen. '06 playoffs Wade and '09 regular season Wade was probably better too, as well as '03 regular season McGrady.

If you account for regular season and playoffs, it's probably Curry though. Granted, the playoff compe ion has been obscenely weak for a champion in waiting, but still.

I completely forgot about 2009 Wade, he was unbelievable that year..

Its' the dribbling in traffic that is inexplicable. It rarely costs him as it's done the others who have tried it.

    It helps...of course it does.

But it's not his fault and it shouldn't be held against him either.

comparing a scrub to a one man team? where the defense is concentrating on 1 guy

curry benefits from playin on a stacked team where the opponents defense is always on alert cause those role players are just as efficient at scoring 2pts

Curry's 2nd and 3rd options are far worse than most of the other all-time greats, tbh..Warriors are loaded with really good role players, but it's not like the other great teams in league history weren't, as well..

He's the only player on his team that can consistently create for others, other than Draymond Green on the dribble-drive mismatches..

He's really good, no denying that, but I don't really like his game. It's all about a midget trying to find enough space to jack up a shot.

    this is under-selling him, tbh..

This 2-year stretch is as good as we've ever seen..best PG we'll ever see in the NBA, especially considering he doesn't take it in the ass..

He's improved his ability to attack the rim which has resulted in people not being able to pick him up at halfcourt, he will blow right by them. He's got that Eurostep (not as good as Russell's but still pretty good). If he ever gets a hitch in his shot it will be interesting to see how he compensates. Right now though I think he could hit from the lockerroom. I'd want the ball in his hands every trip down the floor.
