It wouldn't surprise anyone at this point? It would shock me to be honest, others in here seem to agree he is not going to take the minimum and to think he will is just crazy. Sorry most of this is unrealistic if you are being honest, how much will really happen of what you posted? That would mean it's not reality right? Tim will get around 8 mill a year or so and most of this won't happen, just a fact.Because it is a business, money does matter believe it or not. What other HOF player playing at a high level ever took the minimum? D ROB even at the end of his career felt slighted by their offer and looked around a little bit, he ended up with about 7 or so million a year on his last contract of 2 years. Tim will make around the same or a little more and he is playing at a way higher level.
Tim won't, and shouldn't, take the minimum as you and many others here say. It would be insulting even to offer up the possibility.
Occasionally at the end of their careers future HOF "ring chasers" will take a lot less. Payton and especially Malone signed for way lower than market value when they joined the Lakers. That said, neither of them were close to the minimum.
As for our guys, since the Spurs can exceed the cap on their contracts via Bird rights, and the cap is set to explode starting next year, the argument for drastically reducing salary is pretty limited as long as the player agrees to wait until free agents are signed. I expect Timmy to make 8 mil, and possible as high as 11 or 12. Manu, if he returns, probably will be at 5 to 7.
Yeah, and you're banging Caitlyn Jenner to boot...
Then why is it a part of your proposal?
Until the free agents are renounced, there is still a cap hit. The Knicks have 5 active contracts and a boatload of cap holds. Will they maintain all those holds? Most probably not. Nevertheless, they are still there for now.
Between salary (33M+) and holds (33M+) their cap total right now is about 66.5M, leaving just over 600K.
I don't think you understand the premise of this thread.
