Wow, thank for posting. Spurs players across the board are always limited in their stats. We kept seeing that with Kawhi as Pop seemingly would never let him get to 30 until G3 this year against the Clips. The system really controls the Spurs numbers significantly. Those numbers are surprisingly low, considering how many Finals games we've played and how many we've won (23-11 record).

Timmy averaging 20.6 against that brutal Detroit frontline in 2005 was impressive. That was a grind it out, no pretty boy basketball series.

To put the high game numbers for the Spurs into some perspective, in the 34 Finals games the Spurs have played, there have only been 11 occasions where a player took at least 20 shots (Duncan 7 times, Parker 4 times).

Of those, only Duncan -- and only once (in Game 7 in 2005, when he had 27 FGA) -- has ever gone over 25 FGA.

Lebron has 3 games in the 2015 Finals with at least 34 FGA.

Since 1985, only Duncan has ever taken 30 shots in a playoff game (he took 30 in Game 1 of the 2002 WCSF at LAL) and the Spurs have only 8 games in which a player has taken between 27-30 field goal attempts (3 by Duncan, 3 by Parker, and 2 by Robinson)

When it felt like Spurs couldn't score in that slog of a game, they just pounded it into Duncan. Also shows you how much the early-to-mid 2000s Spurs relied on the Big 3. Literally had seven guys logging minutes those days.
