As far as lowest grossing movie of all time, this isn't even close.

There are a handful of films that didn't even make 100 bucks, and over 80 that didn't break a grand. This is in the bottom 100 though.

This article states that youth soccer is on the rise, which, could perhaps lead to the popularity on a professional level.
Youth soccer has been big in this country for decades and it hasn't necessarily translated into professional soccer being popular. Problem with soccer in the U.S. has always been that it's seen as a compe or with football, and soccer comes out second-best in that compe ion.

Beyond NFL, everything else is regional and even community based.

I have friends that only watch baseball or watch everything but basketball

Growing up there were only 10 or so channels everyone watched. You would converse with classmates, family and friends bout the same things. Those days are gone. Everyone is watching something different and at differing times

Its NFL and everything else. Because NFL has few games (fans can watch every single second of heir teams season feeling informed) . It's played on weekends. Fantasy Football

Most people no longer watch the NFL because of the actual play on the field. Instead it's an event.

This article states that youth soccer is on the rise, which, could perhaps lead to the popularity on a professional level.

And then, there's this: stating the watching of the sport is on the rise.

Different sources say different things. There is zero doubt that the massive popularity of the FIFA video games has lead a generation of children into the sport, and now as they are grown up — they're going to make the sport popular in the United States.

It's the only country sans perhaps Canada that the sport hasn't broken into. It's been growing in popularity substantially, especially if you compare it to the early '90s. Obviously this won't be an overnight change, but if you think that it hasn't grown in popularity — that's extremely dense.
Kids have always played youth soccer. Doesn't mean they grow up to give a about soccer.
