I keep telling people here that if this Upshaw gets his head outta his ass, he'll be a steal. Dude is lengthy and loves playing defense. He has Gobert ceiling.
Numbers dont lie...Robert Upshaw now on our Summer League squad is a ING BEAST...if we can keep him off that weed. This is literally a top 4 pick...maybe top 3...
Robert Upshaw is a 7-foot, shot-blocking savant.The 21-year-old averaged 10.9 points, 8.2 rebounds and 4.5 blocks over 19 games with the Huskies this season.Standing 7-0, with a 7-4 wingspan and a 264 pound frame, ac ulated 85 blocks and was the nation's leading rim-protector.
Upshaw's best attribute from a NBA standpoint is undoubtedly his ability to protect the basket. His terrific length, mobility and instincts helped him emerge as a terrific weakside presence, blocking an outstanding 7 shots per-40 minutes in his 19 games at Washington, which ranks #1 in all of college basketball by a good margin. Look no further than the drop-off the Huskies suffered once he was booted off the squad to understand what his presence meant to them defensively.
Washington was 0.07 points per possession better (0.97 compared with 1.04) with him on the floor this season, while opposing teams shot 38.5% from 2-point range with him patrolling the lane, and 49.7% when he wasn't on the court.
Dude leads all the top bigs in Rebounds and Blocks by a wide in margin...this is insane...we lucked up if we can keep him off drugs....good thing Bill Walton is now mentoring him....

you should call him up to congratulate him and then offer to lick his butt
I'll be surprised if he makes it past Summer League. If he does, then bonus.
"Better than Karl Towns"
UDFA
In before this scrub doesn't make it past preseason and Capri claims he PMed all his butt-buddies about how he was just trolling.
I don't want to put the carriage before the horse but dam...we did al ingright this draft....our now and future looks dam good if this pans out....we lucked up on this ,..
Why you hopin for this kid to fail....if he pans out yall ed...lol ohh that's why you want him to fail....
I'm excited about Nance Jr too. I think that guy is gonna have a decent NBA career. Dude hustles like nobody else. He's the type of scrub you want on your team![]()
All his numbers better than Towns...Towns got him by one basket..but look at the FG% and Block shots disparity....Upshaw sick as
Baby Rodman....![]()
nothing the lakers do will impact the spurs for the next 2-3 years
please once yall lost..you lost...you're only weaker now...you got Manu, Tam, and Parker talking retirement...tbh the Spurs future look weak...even if you land LMA you fellas have 1 foot in the grave while the Lakers are literally building on the fly....you should feel bad about that ty old and boring team...
Thanx 4 posting that....
He's better than Sacre already. He'll make the squad. I just hope Mitch gives him the Dez Bryant treatment to keep him on the straight and narrow until he matures as a man.
yeah he clearly has a 7-9 wingspan![]()
Agree..Bill Walton has invited him to spend time at his house..so Bill is mentoring him....i will let this speak for itself..because its clear if he can stay away from weed...he's a better player and has more upside than Karl Towns and Okafer...his numbers don't lie..
Dont be fooled the only thing that kept him outta the draft was his drug use history....dont around and let that make you believe he's not a top 3-4 draft pick....if he gets his head right the Lakers will be the luckiest mutha ers alive...
Mitch did good this year...hopefully now he can add LMA and Tobias Harris and we're good...
you've been in the lottery for the last 2 years and wont' be in the playoffs next year either. that's not "rebuilding on the fly"![]()
Say what u wish..but we shall see...i know it will take time to fully develop but we clearly got the 2 best players in all of college basketball....D'Angelo at PG and Robert Upshaw at Center....then we added Nance Jr...aka Baby Rodman...
Mitch done good thus far...very improbable picks...
Dude, this league is so rigged! Of course LA lands this beast.
This team should be compe ing for a le. Kobe has all the help in the world. Russell. LaMarcus Aldridge. A better Towns. An engaged and enraged Randle. A future all-star in Clarkson. That lineup is stacked and if Kobe can't at least make a WCF run with that squad and talent, wow.
Whoa...slow down Deepy....I know what your doing but it wont work....we're going to apply the same standard Spur fan along with ESPiN did for Lebronze during the finals...Deal? Ok cool..so just like with Lebron if he takes that team to a finals victory he and he alone would have gotten ALL the credit....but if they lost then he gets none of the blame...we shall apply that same logic to Kobe...deal?![]()
Sort of - difference is Lebron didn't have the number 1 and 2 picks plus LMA on his team in the finals. Lebron wasn't expected to make it once Love and Kyrie and Anderson went down.
But he gets the pre-injury to teammates Lebron treatment where he's expected to win.
