On one hand Danny is one of the best 3 and D players in the league. On the other hand tiago is a great pick n roll player. Passes well and guards mobile 4s really well.

Gun to my head I'm taking DG just cause he's younger and stay healthy for the most part.

If one of these guys isn't on the team next year I might end it all.

Green. He's been more reliable health wise. He's also more valuable as a 2-way player.

Also, two of the most valuable guys Splitter guarded were Nowitzki, who is nearly through, and Aldridge, who will be suiting up for us.

To let both of them walk, Marco can instead of Green then the spurs would have enough money to sign the talented Lamarcus Aldridge

Spurs still have bird rights so it's a distinct possibility

It's not a matter of Green vs. Splitter as players, it's a matter of having 4 quality bigs vs. no depth in the backcourt..

Having 4 starter-level big men in today's league is not nearly as important as backcourt depth..

Danny because it is a perimeter-orientated league these days, and when his shots falling we're nearly unstoppable. He also is less injury prone.

That said, Tiago is really underrated on this site. Even if we get LMA we will have times when we miss Splitter.

Yep. It would be a closer call if Tiago could stay healthy.

Green, because he is younger and more versatile. And with LMA with the Spurs, that is one PF off the list the Spurs would have to defend in the playoffs. Just Davis, Griffin and Zbo (he is going to be 34) to worry about out West (Dirk aging; Josh Smith/Ibaka/Green/ no post game). So Splitter at this point is less valuable as the Spurs have to contend with Curry/Klay, Harden, Westbrook, Lillard, Paul, etc. players that Green has actually defended very well in the past at times.
