Danny gone?

I want to punch every national writer that keeps spreading the mis-information that Spurs "have" to lose Green to get LMA and/or that he's "likely to leave" or that "it will be really hard for SA to keep Green".

True, but Jennings looked like he finally turned a corner prior to his injury, last year..not sure how he'll fit with Reggie Jackson, since they're too similar, but we'll see..

Danny isn't taking leas out of loyalty. It took him 6 years as a professional to reach this point. Getting cut by Cleveland, playing overseas, getting cut by SA. He hasn't banked nearly what his peers have. This is his big contract and he deserves it. If anyone should show loyalty here it is the Spurs front office. The TV contract is causing the salary cap to go up in a year. A scrub lime Aminu just got 7.5 million a year. Danny deserves 10-12 million a year, and that contract will look great under the new salary cap.

2mil tops. If his best offer is 12 mil a year, I am 100% sure he would resign with the Spurs for 10mil. He is very loyal to Pop as Pop coaching him and developing his game is why he even in the league at this point. Despite him not liking Parker all that much, his love for Pop far exceeds that.

Since Danny's salary doesn't really affect the Spurs' cap space in any way (because his salary will be higher than his cap hold, so he'll sign last), why would the Spurs lose him over a few million a year, especially with the cap about to skyrocket? If I'm the Spurs and some team out there goes crazy and offers 4/60, I match it without even blinking. I would hope that Danny would choose the Spurs if they are willing to match whatever another team offers.

Even concerns about the apron are less likely now because of the cap being higher than anticipated.

You're correct. There are only really 3 reasons why Danny leaves SA:

1) LMA agrees to play in SA and SA cannot find a trade partner for Tiago or Boris and/or Mills or the like. Very unlikely
2) Holt refuses to pay LT. Not only that, but maybe has a firm cap number below the LT and will not go over that number. Possible.
3) Danny and/or the Spurs are just ready to part ways. Possible, but doesn't seem likely.
