Danny Green just today
D green doing the Lords work
Who would've thought this guy would ever make it? Not only do I get my old job back, but they gave me a raise! to play for/with the greatest teammates and coaches, you'll ever see around the game, in the greatest organization in the world! Thank you for this great opportunity and thanks to the fans for always supporting #Spurs
Danny Green just today
At this point I just hope Tony doesn't eat LaMarcus' breakfast and makes a bad impression, tbh...
How may times have they ever even tried?
The only big names- or relatively big names where Finley and Derek Anderson.
In all honesty- Finley was 32 and his stats had declined over the past few years and the Spurs didn't have to pay much of his salary- His salary was going to be the same no matter where he signed due to his amnesty with Dallas.
Derek Anderson was intriguing to several teams, but not a huge #.
The only comparable was when they pursued Jason kidd

Been told Suns are still scheduled to meet with LaMarcus Aldridge today after he's done with Spurs. Phoenix still thinks it has a shot.
i thought h-town also met with LMA last night. did this not take place after all?
Phoenix's game plan: LMA and 4-point guards.
happened this morning.
Nick Van Excellent!
Looks like we probably won't have a decision until tonight at the very earliest if LMA is going to still meet with the other teams. I really wouldn't have expected him to have just cancelled the meetings; he'll hear them out but I still don't think they have much to offer.
IIRC, Phoenix, Dallas, Toronto, and Portland are the team left that have meetings with him?
If LMA decides to go back and play with Al Farooq Aminu and Gerald Henderson, then he was too stupid to be a Spur anyways tbh![]()
if aldridge was flying to each team to meet with them, i'd expect him to cancel... but he's in LA and had all of them fly in to meet, its probably a courtesy thing
Agreed. And I think he's meeting the Knicks tomorrow. So wouldn't expect anything....
On the other hand, I didn't expect the Green signing, so who knows...
And apparently they're going to max out Lollard too
Agree with this..would have been a huge red flag if he was actually flying out to meet them..
My thoughts exactly.
iirc dwight did the same, met with the lakers last even though he knew he was gna leave the money on the table
Indubitably
Spurs have the money (max contract). Spurs have the location (family and TX native). Spurs have the playing time (just shipped off starting big). Spurs have the contending status (2014 champs). Spurs have the nostalgia factor (LMA idolizes Duncan, likes Pop).
It's like the perfect storm.
Now we just have to hope he's not just using us as a bargaining chip against ing Portland.
