I always liked Greg Monroe..great defense...

But I think we need to retain DG just in case to help Kawhi in offense.
TP is now unreliable and I expect Duncan to play lesser minutes next season to stay healthy.

Let's just admit it, the Spurs are all in on LMA.

Plan B is David Aldridge? Does he have a sweet mid-range jumper?

Yahoo Sources: Draymond Green and the Warriors have broken off contract talks. http://yhoo.it/1Caxd2i
    Isn't he restricted?

I just don't like Monroe here.

Over 90% of his FGA come from within 10 feet of the rim, and with Tim's mid-range game getting worse and worse, that's not ideal for the offense. He's far worse than Splitter defensively. I don't think he's as good of a PnR big as Splitter.

The one plus side is that a Kawhi/Monroe/Duncan frontcourt would be ridiculous rebounding-wise.

Idk, maybe he'd improve defensively if he came here. He is still young. I just don't think it'd be that great of a move...guess it depends on what type of deal he gets though.

Nah, fifth-year player. Rare UFA in line for the lowest-level max.

Damn, I'd offer him the max if Aldridge says no. Who the would score against Green, Leonard, Green?

Then the Spurs could sign Gerald Green and Jeff Green.

Huh? I was almost certain Draymond Green was a RFA.

Or are you talking about Monroe?

Yeah, meant Monore. Green's an RFA.

Incidentally, ST is moving like molasses for me right now. Ton of traffic, I guess.

Not a bad backup plan, tbh. I didn't like the idea of Monroe at the expense of Green but if Aldridge picks another team and the Spurs are standing with a bag of cash, you could do much worse than a 25-year-old big who could step in and give you 15, 10 and 3. He'd be a definite defensive downgrade from Splitter but the fact that Monroe is a poor man's Duncan would make the fit relatively seamless.
    Where have you been hiding?

I thought so on Green. So GS is just going to make him sign a four year deal with 4.5% raises somewhere else and then match it.

It was a joke in regards to what baseline bum said about Draymond Green. They all have the last name "Green".

I'd love to see the whole list that RC and Pop have... obviously LMA is at the top, but I'm sure it goes 7 or 8 players deep. I'm hoping Jonas Jerebko is the under-the-radar signing after option #1 is taken care of...

Then Bill Simmons could have a new reason to be a Spur hater post-Duncan era.

Ugh, Monroe? I can't believe SA would move Splitter without being so confident. I would definitely rather have Splitter than Monroe for the next two years. No doubt. But what's done is done.

I agree why dump splitter for nothing unless they had a better then average chance at landing Aldridge?if they don't land Aldridge dumping splitter makes no sense
