For the minimum as a roster filler ... sure, why not?
At the very list he is a SF backup that's taller than 6'4"
Yeah. Definitely a been there done that type of guy. In the mold of prior vet role players the Spurs have picked up at the end of their careers.
He has 2 or 3 good games left in him
Wouldn't be a bad guy for a roster spot replacing Beli. Also need contracts to aggregate in a mid-season trade.
In the preseason. The only FA geriatrics I want now are Manu and TD.
Add him to the list of washed up players that sign with the Spurs at the end of their career.
Actually heard he was going to Phoenix
Good locker room guy at the minimum; once other things hopefully fall into place, it'd be something to visit.
Wherever he goes, I hope he turns down the Lakers first.
I actually think they'll view third SG as more of a need than SF, since Green, despite the SG designation, is really a wing and even Ginobili, defensively at this point, is probably more wing than SG. Besides, unless he's gotten way, way stronger, Anderson is still an SF defensively by default.
Then you throw in the fact that Ginobili is only going to play one more season tops and his lack of durability and it all adds up to SG being more the priority. Jenkins has been my prediction all along.
Are you 4 realz?
Would be great to have a real backup SF for defense.
Spurs rang with Austin Daye, might as well sign OG Austin Daye.
Would be a good signing if it happens.
My only problem.... the Spurs consistently dared him to shoot in the playoffs and he missed a lot of shots.
He'd be a nice fit in the 3/4 rotation, give you around 10-12 minutes a night, defense, decent size (another 6'9" perimeter guy), rebounding, has the range to keep an opponent's 2nd team honest. Has played in big situations.
I totally agree.
Prince is done as a defensive player.
He's mostly a mid range jumpshooter and doesn't shoot many 3s.
The only reason I would see the Spurs being interested is to be the 13-15 man on the roster.
I always liked him. He's a hard-working level-headed guy, which is by the way the type of personality that better ages, as we can appreciate in Tim.
Really don't want him.
everyone is signing surprise he has not yet
While I'm definitely ok with him being a roster filler, he definitely doesn't have any range to keep teams honest. Spurs destroyed MEM by literally not even guarding Prince.
