Yep. All this feels very much like grandstanding because the to-Spurs talk has been so prevalent. Additionally we have no clue how long he intends to sign for. is playing chess, not checkers.
Business and politics need to run their course right now.
This just in...Don Draper will be present at the Lakers meeting.

That's one thing that works against the Spurs. LMA probably asked if he'd have to ever play center on the Spurs. Pop, instead of lying to him to get him to sign, probably said Yes. And, honestly, whoever tells him he won't ever have to play center is lying. In today's NBA, he's going to end up playing center quite a bit wherever he goes.
But, yeah, LMA saying "BUT MOMMY, I DON'T WANNA PLAY CENTER
" makes me question his testicular for ude, to put it kindly.
Maybe this is a clandestine move by Portland to get as many other teams to destroy their rosters trying to accommodate LaMarcus, only for him to resign with the Blazers after all the damage has been done.
I'm joking, kind of...
Let's be real pop must be the worst pitch man in the history of western civilization
spurstalk turning on this got even before he signs the contract
Need a nickname for him....
You know, you can have two PF's out there at the same time. This isn't that new of a concept.
exactly it's like he's making excuses now
Based on his track record? Yep.
Kobe not invited to the meeting ?that's like saying Spurs will have another meeting but TD not invited

Aldridge is an overrated pussy, tbh. Did I miss when he stopped being Big Man Allen Iverson and started being LeBron, Durant, or Davis? I get why the Lakers and Suns are begging for that got, but I don't understand why the Spurs have been so thirsty for him.
Meeting will be about basketball so Kobe you're sitting this one out![]()

And spurs traded away Lamarcus KRYPTONITE smh
When your other major big is 40 and takes nights off you're going to play center sometimes. What's he afraid of? Physical contact??
that was his point...
Hopefully the Johnson signing decreases, if not altogether eliminates, the Celtics supposed interest in Koufos.
One final point on West. Don't think of him individually and where he's at in his career, think of how well he'd fit on this team and who's role he'd be replacing. People will say Splitter, but it's really Baynes/Bonner. Koufos, O'Quinn, etc., will replace Splitter and they'll rejig the big rotation accordingly.
As far as Aldridge goes, he probably has concerns about the pecking order, long term sustainability as a contender and who'd be the starting C after Duncan retires.
Aldridge is ing me in my ing asshole and nutting on my goddamn hopes and dreams
Indeed.
This deal should've been by now. Pop, for once in his pock faced life, should've played kiss-ass and blew smoke up LMA's ass.
True. Small ball lineups would require it unless he prefer to sit on the bench when a small ball lineup is on the floor.
It's the classic "hot girl at the party" scenario. She shows interest in 4-5 guys and BAM, hangs onto you for the majority of the night. But as she drinks more and more and starts asking you to hold her purse and get her drinks, you start to focus on 6-8/10 girls who aren't shallow and faced. I'd imagine the Spurs FO is in the stage of throwing the purse on the couch and looking for those 6's.
Testicular for ude and intelligence in the sense of having an actual understanding of what wins in this league right now, in an era where the teams that win are the teams that play the most position-lessly (sp?). Among the great strengths of the last 3 champions has been that ability to match up or down and to use guys in a variety of ways all over the floor. .
If people thought Splitter was soft, this is even worse.
One of our main sources of points got fat and ty and another is retiring. We aren't hoping for a Brow tweezer with him.
If he really won't play center and he chooses to play for the Suns instead of Spurs, I'd hope Duncan would go off on him, especially after all this "wanting to be on a winning team"....didn't know those words meant "unless I have to play center".
does "center" still even exist in today's outside shooting offenses anyway? Smh
