Kanter is def an upgrade over splitter
Enes Cancer is one of the worst passing big men in the league and one of the biggest black holes in the paint. His defense is pretty atrocious as well. In what way would he be an upgrade over Splitter?

Trevor Booker on Enes Cancer... "He did what he always does. He got his stats. He didn't defend. He took an L (a loss)."

two year deal worth around 37-39 million dollars...

Done deal...I've said this like weeks ago.
You know (and I know my words don't mean a ton on an anonymous message board), but I went from hating your style to now I just nod at whatever you say.
Respect. I don't post much, but I remember your first days on the board with a bang and you keep bringing the bang everyday.

Good job. I don't know if I hope you're right since I'm not a big fan of LMA as a player, but still...
it. I lost my train of thought. What was I talking about?

Officially reached more posts than the Gasol thread, yet will meet with the same result as usual. No big time free agent will come to San Antonio willingly. What do we have to offer? Sea World and Churros? Small taquerias on the southside?
Sadly it's the truth. No matter our team, it all comes down to this perception that San Antonio is an absolute hole of a city.

People complaining about losing Splitter and Baynes, Suns just destroyed half their team before being strung along like the rest of us..

Much rather live here than a hole like Cleveland or OKC.

If there was even the slightest bit of uncertainty from the Spurs about LMA signing here, why wouldn't they move on? Spurs acting too calm.

It's our Achilles heel.If Riles was running the show,we would of got Aldridge or some other max player already. For Christ sakes we won championship in 2003,Duncan at his peak, young nucleus, max cap space for top tier player and then some, and completely whiffed.Thank god for old Robert Horry playing over his head during 2005 playoff run.

ed up location in S.A,fat women,no high pitch salesman. ing miracle we won 5 championships.Given the right city, right pitchman(Riley,West,Auerbach) could of been Russell Celtiics like dynasty.

    Be happy with 5

Well we thought the same thing and that everything seemed like a done deal once Splitter got dealt, and that was seventy-three meetings ago. Since then, the pool has only gotten more crowded with ing Phoenix and Miami jumping in the mix.

I know but I'm saying if the Spurs felt they still didn't have a good chance, I feel they would've scooped someone up by now

    I disagree.

I think it's fear of failure.

If you come to the Spurs and it doesn't work out, what can you say?

You can't say it's a clueless organization and they'll never win.

The Spurs are a unique outfit -- if you fail, it's on you.

Why would you go for that when you could go, for example, to Phoenix?

I'm not sure the fact that they haven't moved on to other things is a sign of confidence. It's mostly just the reality of the situation -- why panic and take yourself completely out of the running? At least at this juncture, there's still a possibility (who knows, maybe even a strong probability) that Aldridge will join the Spurs, which would be a better move (talent-wise) than any other move they could make right now. It would be one thing if, say, Gasol was still in play and waiting for Aldridge might cost you Gasol. But that's not where we are. Wait out the best available talent and give him a chance to join you before you the bed and move to lesser options.

Because everyone is a frenzy based on some anonymous source that a twitter account reports on, don't believe everything you read.

That last Woj tweet is actually bad if you think about it. He knows what the Spurs are offering and his search for a team seems to be EXPANDING. Like someone said earlier, it seems as though he's looking for reasons to sign elsewhere. Not a great sign IMO.
We've heard it for years: Free agents don't come to San Antonio. Why would we be surprised to find that he's looking for a reason not to?

The thing is, those teams have hype. Your name will always be in the media. Players are drawn to that .

Jabari Young still believes it's the Spurs

@JLang839: @JabariJYoung Not hearing much anymore about Spurs as front runners for LMA. You still think he ends up in SA after all this?
    @JabariJYoung: @JLang839 yup
@JabariJYoung: @JLang839 and I am sure Pop probably told him to take his time and do his due diligence. He chooses SA, great. If not, wish him luck

I do think the longer this drags on the lower the chances are of him coming to SA. He's heard from everyone at least once, and if he doesn't seem convinced after the first round of talks then I think he's headed back to Portland as the devil he knows.

Not surprised. But people thinking that Woj tweet was good news didn't think it through. At least in my opinion. Who the knows what's going on in Aldridge's head.
