But would it make them a factor for (David) West?![]()
Latest word is Aldridge has decided to sit out the 2015-2016 season to have more time to make a decision.
But would it make them a factor for (David) West?![]()
if you need a closer, bring manu
Actually he is setting up a meeting with Jim Gray set to air on ESPN this afternoon, it will be called the indecision and will take 5 hours to play out. Just kidding!
good one.
If LMA chooses the Spurs I would actually love for him to only do a 2 year deal. There is some risk with LMA's age that he doesn't age well and that the last couple years of a max deal could look ugly. I would absolutely love to just maximize the chances to win for the next two years while having a ton of flexibility 2 years from now as well.
Spurs (especially if the win a le with LMA) would still have the inside track on re-signing him if he's a perfect fit.
Maybe the Spurs can sign West and bring him in to be the closer during the last meeting.
It would be a hugely lucky bounce/good planning for Spurs to land LMA - if they happen to get West as well? That would be other worldy luck and planning.
If you are LMA why not sign a 2 year deal with SA??you can leave in 2 once sap goes up plus TD and Pop may retire. It makes the most sense for him....once he gets here and learns the Spurs culture, then maybe he extends, but he's not signing a 5 year deal with SA. Too. Many unknowns.
Agreed, it's really amazing that the Spurs are finally that destination team that decent free agents actually want to come play for. Loving it!

Yeah, getting West would be straight-up luck. I don't think anyone expected he'd be willing to (possibly) leave all kinds of money behind.
Portland jouno now reporting that Pop wants a 2nd meeting with LMA
this ing guy
edit: okay I'm way behind obv![]()
E lNono , is Manu under a gag rule?
Would he have to take the minimum to do that or do we have some kind of trade or player exemptions we can use to sign him right now?
Not that I know of...
I feel the opposite. I think in the new CBA, $42M/2 isn't going to be that crippling. He and Parker will probably be nearing their expiration dates by then, but the Spurs would probably still have another max slot left.
I don't understand why he would sign a 5 year with Portland anyways. Short of being so badly injured that he's out of the league in 2 years, he'd recoup that money and probably more on his next contract even if he regressed
smh white people, looks gay af imo
Look at Phoenix using Tyson to recruit LMA even though they didn't even have enough cap to sign either.
2 year deal seems nice for both parties..
Aldridge's aging is probably negated by the Spurs' system and Pop's minutes management, and he would only have to tolerate Tony Parker for 2 years..
This is my thinking too.
IF Manu is retiring, of course front office would want him to wait til after signing so not to turn people away if they expected him to play.
Second meeting with Pop coming up. This is where champions are made.
