Realistically, can the Spurs cancel the Splitter trade if LMA doesn't sign with them?
What does he stand to gain from this 3+ day circus? How could trending on multiple social networking platforms and the news cycle for a week help a professional athlete?

Nope. It can be done, but it's not realistic to think that's an option IMO.
That's the real problem. A couple of days ago, they could have at least overpaid for a Plan B. Now they would have to overpay for a Plan C. You don't ring with Plan C in the middle.
Not without repercussions publicly. Unless SA and ATL do a backwater deal and say he failed his physical.
Seems unlikely. Splitter and several Spurs have all said goodbye.

Boom: There is the Jordan news just like I thought. Worked out perfectly for SA. Hurts the Clips, takes Dallas out of LMA race and ensures RoLo to NY making POR less of a basketball threat for LMA.
I would fully expect to hear about LMA to SA in the next day now that the Jordan shoe has dropped. PHX can't be a legit threat.
