I disagree. Obviously the Mavs get significantly better with this deal, but I think this is more about setting them up for the future/life after Dirk. They now have Deandre, Wes, and Parsons locked up long term. Gives them stability and attractiveness to other FA's. I don't think they are good enough to contend for a le next year, however. They still lack a PG and any real depth.

Exactly my thoughts. DJ, Parsons and Wes is not close to a le. But you have the cap going up in 2017 and a bunch of guys coming free and flexibility to add to it. Short of convincing LeBron to come to Dallas, there are no moves available that's getting you a le next year. This is about transitioning to the post-Dirk Era.

This would be like ing that Golden State didn't have enough to win in 2012 or 2013.

As I've said all along, he's not even close to a max player despite his padded stats in a contract year. If this franchise was smart, they'd sign-and-trade him this summer while his value is still artificially high. Instead, they'll probably give the max to an overglorified role player with one of the lowest basketball IQ's in the league.

As I've said all year, trade his ass or let him walk. Let someone else make the mistake of overpaying for a big with no offensive game and extremely overrated defense.

This is a huge loss for the Clippers. Even though this guy was offensively challenged his skill set will be hard to replace. Part of the reason why the clippers were a tough matchup for a lot of teams was Jordan's ability to get easy buckets off broke plays from Blake and CP3. Also Jordan was a great defensive anchor for them.
