Hibbert got frustrated with a couple of teammates being selfish, and not giving effort, and made a couple of public comments. Probably shouldn't have done it, but he was right. Instead of manning up and doing something about it, his team got butthurt and the locker room got ugly. Then Hibbert made his infamous "no " comment. The league fined him, and his teammates didn't stand up for him at all. His problems have been all about bad chemistry.

There's a real possibility that he could land in the right place and start kicking asses and taking names. He could also be absolutely worthless and fade away. Pretty big risk, but possibly a big payoff.
like that seems to fade into the background quickly in San Antonio. Maybe that's the place for him. At his best he's close to a max player.

When he's right, he's a pure badass. Sonofa can absolutely dominate the middle, and he's a true C - not some tweener trying to play big. If he could get his groove back, he would be an incredible addition.

With Dallas out of the race... Spurs are legitimate the only smart move

    Option A: Spurs
Option B: Gerald Henderson, Aminu, Plumlee
    Option C: Tyson Chandler

Who would be available in trade other than Nene or Hibbert? Hibbert would be about the worst fit possible for this team, I'd almost rather start Bonner at center.
Yeah, I'm pretty low on Hibbert. If the Spurs got him, at best he's a 18-20 MPG player who is used mostly in situational matchups.

Hibbert is still one of the best rim protectors in the league (if not the best) but he's so damn immobile and the NBA has sped up so much that there would be some teams he literally couldn't play against.

I don't know Koufos too well, what does he bring?
He's your prototypical solid center. Not great in any area but does everything well enough. Something like a modern day Will Perdue with more range and more athleticism.

Duncan/Diaw/Koufas/West would be pretty damn solid, barring any of them fall off a cliff physically.

Well I meant for a top teir salary. If it's a role player that can be useful, like Koufos, sure, I'm ok with that.
I'm assuming he'll get $40M/4 pretty easily. So it's a little better than normal role-player money, but he could start for the Spurs for 8-10 years. So I'd think it worth it.

West and Hibbert worked well together. West is a good passer - picks up a lot of AST's. I don't think any of the bad blood in Indy was between those two. If this team could make Hibbert feel like part of a team, and the old Roy Hibbert showed up, it would make a LOT of teams in the Western Conference miserable. Throw in Wests' toughness, and it would still be a good off-season.

Koufax did great vs Spurs last year. I think he'd be good whether we sign LMA or not. He is very physical.

It's in the summer league thread. The roster for the Utah round.
