Ugh, O'Quinn went in an S&T for cash and a second-rounder (just a swap of seconds in 2019, actually). $16M/4. Definitely would have loved him on that deal.

Hibbert just went to the Lakers. He's counting over $15 Mil to their salary cap, BTW, for those who kept suggesting that we could get him in addition to LMA.

I know a number of knowledgeable posters have said that he wouldn't be worth having at any price. We'll see. I remember just a few years ago, some of those same people saying that Derek Fisher was washed up, and was too slow to play defense at all - and he proceeded to on the spurs for the following 2-3 seasons. I think Hibbert will get some of his swag back in LA. That won't make them contenders, but I still think he'll show that he would have been worth picking up, if the Spurs didn't win the FA lottery.

Yeah, Aldrich for the room exception would be decent value if it came to that.
Min salary for a guy with an 18 PER, yeah we'd all be fine with that.

Is Aldrich seriously on the table for the min? That seems like a no-brainer, if he is. Be very happy to have him on the bench for that.

I'm hoping that the roster that's already here will help convince some of these guys, and the Spurs can pick and choose among the ones that are affordable.

I said room exception since that is supposedly in play for West. Seems like it might be a bit low for Aldrich tbh.

Koufos is probably the best option, but he can easily get money elsewhere. Maybe we could do some sort of S&T with CoJo/Koufos? Not sure whether Memphis is big on Joseph or not.

Biyombo I guess? Dude has ing stone hands that make Errors look like Jerry Rice, but I'm pretty sure he's a solid defender and that's the main thing we need.

Jordan Hill is out there still but he's going to get the MLE probably, maybe even more from some dumb team.
So BB is related to Nazr?

A S&T of COJO for Jason Thompson might work. No clue what Thompson makes. Brown loves Joseph
wouldn't that have to wait for 30 or 60 days, since Thompson was just traded?

If you could, would you go after both David West and Larry Sanders?

I don't think Larry Sanders will ever be a Spur. Though he fits in theory.

    Nah, for two reasons:

    1) Philly is under the cap, and that restriction only applies to teams that are over

    and

    2) That restriction only applies to teams trying to aggregate the recently acquired player's salary with another player to match in-coming salaries. So Cory for Thompson or Cory and Williams (for example) for Thompson would be allowable even if the Sixers were over the cap when they acquired him.

Seraphin would be nice, he showed some promise in WAS. Wouldn't mind taking a flyer on Blatche either

Unless West takes the minimum out of sheer desperation to try to win a championship, there's no way any of the names you mentioned will.

They should offer Williams' non guaranteed contract for Plumlee, who's now 4th on the Bucks depth chart at C. They'd probably be willing to straight salary dump him, given that they just did so with a rotation player, in Dudley.

Short of that, we're probably looking at the Freeland's and Aldrich's of the world.
    Love the idea on Plumlee.

Just a though, and could be had for cheap, Henry Sims? Don't know his game well though.

But I think a CoJo for Thompson sounds good.

well thank you for sort of clearing that up......man the NBA and it's salary rules are insane to keep up with.

So would we have the money to do the following.......

sign and trade CoJo for Thompson
    sign PF David West
    sign F/C Larry Sanders
    sign G/F Lance Thomas
    sign G/F Jeff Taylor

    PG - Parker, Mills, Anderson
    SG - Green, Manu, Thomas
    SF - Leonard, Taylor
    PF - Aldridge, West, Diaw
    C - Duncan, Thompson, Sanders

I think I'd rather have Zaza Pachulia than Miles Plumlee, tbh. Pachulia was actually really solid last year for Milwaukee. I wonder what it'd take for us to get him.

Cojo, LJC. Zaza would be great, but I don't think it's viable, particularly if the Blazers don't agree to a S&T.

Boozer and/or Butler might infect LMA with their lackadaisical losing NBA culture before the Spurs have a chance to indoctrinate him.

    No thanks.

I wouldn't take Seraphin... low basketball IQ.

I would take Blatche for the minimum.

Boozer will never take the minimum.

Butler hasn't played well for two years now.

We need a big bruiser type.

West may be like a NVE 2006 all flair no substance signing.
who is left that can play real interior D?

Spurs don't necessarily need a defensive big, though, another defensiv wing would suffice IMO..
