You do realize that the USMNT would beat the USWNT any day of the week right? It's all relative... women's soccer gets the best female U.S. athletes from which to build their squad, men's soccer doesn't... it's that simple...

They started 4-0...I doubt anyone comes back after that. It's not the end of the world..They connceded 4 goals that were all a result of poor set defending. Easy to say they're short, but reality is that all the goals on set pieaces were goal waist downn..It's was just a terrible start.

I get why for sure. A friend of mine just had a kid and wanted them to be an (American) football player. I suggested soccer instead on the grounds that they make way more money because there are no salary cap restraints. They thought that was the worst idea ever.

Also, women soccer players make practically nothing compared to their male counterparts. Marta (highest paid female in the world) makes $500k a year salary. The next 4 average $400k, then it drops to $75 for a few women. Almost all the women on the team except 4 or so make $25k - $30k a year.

To put that into perspective, Clint Dempsey will make $6 million playing in the MLS this season. America is full of athletes, but the market for soccer hasn't developed. If one kid could become a Ronaldo/Messi type maybe the tide changes, but it's frustrating to pull for the USMNT because America is compe ive in so many other sports.
