^^ Hopefully Chinook's logic is correct about players trying to cash in next year after a Spurs audition, tbh..

It can't hurt the cause that all of the Spurs' bench guys have received nice contracts, so far..

Would love to have him as a backup wing, but he's a RFA. Brooklyn would definitely match anything we throw at him. Even if he was a UFA he'd be well out of our price range...unless his blood clot situation has given teams reason to stay away from him or something.

But I bet, somehow, some way, Jeff still gets an NBA contract above minimum... , if we get desperate, it may be from us!!!

(Though thankfully our would be the min)

Yeah, getting Green would be great, if his job is to play semi competent wing D as a bench player, and shoot open 3's he'll be great. Plus it's practice for the Spurs having another player without all of his fingers.

You know Spurs players need all their fingers, since they get so many rings!

Gerald Green for the vet min could be a real good signing.
two year deal with player option, and he can hope a big contract in one or two year.

Of course, he would probably find more money elsewhere, but signing here give him the opportunity to win a NBA le, to play in a great team, and to play with his cousin Danny

So here is who we have signed:
    PG: Parker
    PG / SG: Mills
    SG: Green
    SG / SF / PF: K Anderson
    SF: Kawhi
    PF: LMA
    PF / C: Diaw
    PF / C: Duncan

Most likely will be on the roster:
    PG / SG: Manu
    SF / PF: LJC

    Possible:
    PF / C: Bonner
    PF / C: West

    Needs:
    Backup True PG
    Starting C

After our 2 needs are filled, we could be at 14 slots filled. I think we may not have slots 13 and 14 filled until buyouts happen later in the season. Bonner's contract should be fully unguaranteed for max flexibility in picking up talent after wavers.

Ideas on backup PG and starting C? Chinook predicts a Hibbert buyout when Lakers go into tank mode to grab a top 3 pick to retain their 2016 first rounder. Ideas on a backup PG?

Problem is Gerald Green's D is terrible. It's not even good enough for the Suns.....can you imagine that.

Yes, he was traded to the Lakers (will be finalized after the moratorium just like the Splitter trade), and the impending buyout is obvious. That situation is going to turn toxic by December.
Interesting. I never even thought about the possibility of Hibbert getting bought out. I would really like to get him if he was bought out. I think Tim can get the best out of him.

I'm starting to like the idea of signing Prince, He had some good games last season and we could use his experience as backup for Kawhi if KA don't pan out...

    Ideas on a backup PG?
Maybe we could use the "french connection" and the influence of Tony and Boris.

Rodrigue Beaubois has a good year in france, he seems healthy again, he was rumored to make the summer league with washington, so i guess he can consider a return in nba.

But if we go in that direction, i would prefer Antoine Diot. He is the backup PG in french NT (with Thomas Heurtel), and i think he could be a good 3rd PG in the team. He is an old fashion PG, with good passing and BB IQ, he's not a too bad defender, his shoot is honest, and he can handle the pressure. And french NT use some of the SA systems, so he would already have a little corporate knowledge
He will leave his current team (Strasbourg, coached by Vincent Collet, then french NT coach), but i'm not sure that he will accept to take a 3rd PG job in NBA, i heard that he have some good contract offer from euro team (Valence in ACB)

As much as I like to see LJC do well and come to the team, I get the impression his not going to be effective being an undersized PF. Probably defensively he's great but I just am not sure.

    Regarding needs:

3 point shooter to replace Belinelli
    Center (backup)

I think between Parker, Ginobili, Diaw and Anderson the backup point guard duties are covered. Diaw is actually freed up to do less offensive work now that Aldridge is an offensive option.

Tim will be our starting C...We have Diaw off the bench so that's half the battle there. Attention Manu! We need you!

For the regular season, Tim will be a part-time center. So who is playing center when Tim is taking time off?

Yes it will interesting. Guess West coming will influence our bottom line, though he is more of a PF.

So are we going with Marcus Denmon, Livio Jean Charles and other guys like that? I would hope they'd have a few other veteran moves at this point. David West is looking like a mighty important signing.

as a starter on a bad Lakers team, this kid still had the 2nd most assists in the league. His passing is nothing short of phenomenal.

Idea is to sign players for the minimum for at least two years; system is complex. I wonder who can be had for at least two years for the minimum.

How is this a rumor? It's just pictures of some of Argentina's great players. It takes words to make a rumor. ????
