I've enjoyed reading ST again over the past few days - there's some strong discussion going on, like in the old days. Props to everyone for that.

It's about time the pathetic phobia is addressed though. I'm sick of reading the word " got". It has no place in a forum like this, and anyone who uses it should have it replaced with something funny like mispelling Elliott. If you want to insult someone, show some creativity instead of your deep-seated fear that you may be gay.

That was not really my specific point. There's a difference in enjoying the past week with LMA news and old posters returning (which I agree) and acting like anything has changed in that week. Of course the more the merrier but people acting like the level of quality posting has risen & now coming out on the high horses to proclaim "wow!!! There's the high level discussion we have been missing!!" Strikes me as weird.

The discussion has been here whether or not you have chosen to participate. Also, ironically, all the grandstanding about the trolls and decency basically boils down to the fact you don't think Kori/Uncle are good people? It's their forum and they always have control on what they allow and they are not complaining or stopping it. So what does that mean for what they want?

I agree, as a decent person I wish people would self regulate & it can build up & be annoying but the only thing we have control over is us. Step your game up & drown out the idiots because it's not changing.

People are getting annoyed easily or not by that kind of stuff it depends on their personality. A lot did not like it and did not post anymore, it is still better or respectable for me than continuing posting complaining every two posts about trolling. Now the recent news are exciting people want to read and contribute again, I hope it will keep up even when news will be less dense.

Correct. I stopped posting. Didn't complain - just told people to be nicer to each other and left for a couple months. Then got back to work talking basketball.

Am l unique in that I only post when the quality of bb discussions gets bad? When there is much to discuss, I spend my time reading and not posting and it was that way since 07 when I first came here.


Anyway, I doubt we ever get back to st glory days. Timvp was staying up late doing game thoughts and honestly that was just dumb to work so hard for non paying customers. Spurstalk also predates blogs and Twitter. We're no longer the fastest source of info or only place to get rumors. It's still a unique site, but is no longer as necessary.

As for the other issue, use of the word " got" has gone ballistic in this place. Read any game thread and morons like Rob use it in every second post. This didn't happen 5 years ago. I hope timvp reads this thread and acts on my and GSH's suggestion. Who would it hurt to do that?

Not at all. I'm all for cleaning the place up more - a few posters are the main issue though. Point is timvp & kori have seen and heard the complaints for years and nothing has changed - that was my point. They don't see it as a problem worth correcting or else guys like Koolaidman spamming/PM'ing porn to people would be gone.
