Yeah, I sure hope that's not the best we can do shooter-wise, to replace Belly.
And he's supposed to be 29

Around The Horn just had a segment about Bonner, reporting that he blamed his shooting woes last season on the iPhone 6 release, so obviously he needs to be put down.
Is there a possibility of Davis Bertans joining Spurs soon?
please, not the spurs
wheres the damn "its happening" Gif?
THANK YOU
I'd say Bonner is going to be on the roster (like it or not - I like it, he's a great glue guy and provides a situational stretch 4 we don't have), and with such a veteran packed team, I'm betting that the final spots will be filled with youth - one of the Cs (probably Lalanne, maybe Milutinov but seems unlikely), LJC (does look very promising defensively), and Bertans? We still need a 3-shooting wing and that is the big question mark.
If only the OTHER Bertans were a realistic option this summer.

On the plus side, Spurs could have three rookies on the bench after next season (1st rounder, Milutinov, and Davis' Bertans) and LJC if he doesn't make it this season.
I'm cool with Bonner being back. Having a vet at the end of the bench that can give 15 minutes in any given game is never a bad thing. Spurs would have fantastic depth at the 4 (Aldridge, Diaw, West, Bonner).
I'd really like to see LJC make it this year. Anderson has underwhelmed, apparently, having another option at the 3 is ideal. Especially if he can defend some of the better wings for short stretches while Kawhi is on the bench or in foul trouble.
Damn, Bellinelli got old during the offseason.
Yeah people get really picky about positions nowadays. West is a 4. Even if he plays the majority of his minutes at the 5, he is still a 4.
I'm okay with a Mills-Manu-Diaw-West bench. The bench in recent years has been more of an offensive unit anyways, so longs as they don't get scorched on defense and handle their business on offense,
I'm expecting Aldridge to play some C, despite his past objections. An LA/Diaw pairing would be almost unfair, two bigs who can post and stretch it out to at least 18 feet. Spurs seldom ever play small ball (Diaw is kind of the best of both worlds). I'd imagine the Spurs look to stay big at all times. With 3 floor spacing bigs, it should be easy to do.
its interesting to see who the backup 3 would be. Anderson? LJC? Butler? (Rasual or Caron) Prince? Anderson doesn't sound like he can be an average defender at this point, and I'm not sold on his 3pt shooting either. LJC can't shoot but should be an average to slightly above average player in the NBA. Either would give the Spurs a ton of size on the wing (both are 6'9, and have at least 7'1 wingspans).
Well one thing that could mesh well with Kyle in the second unit is his ability to rebound.
how about ben gordon?
john lucas III? he didnt look bad when he was with the bulls.
cj watson still avail?
landry fields?
dorrell wright?

Livio Jean-Charles will stay one more year in France. It has just been confirmed by his team's owner who talked with Spurs about it.
Wait, what? Porker said that? Why? Was really hoping Livio'd make the roster now, especially since the need for a shot blocker was high, but oh well.
For the rest of Spurs roster:
- Spurs are nicely set at PF/C. It would be somewhat logical to see Bonner being back. He already said he wants to be back for the min and he is fine to have at the end of the bench. In theory, getting a legit center would be great but with only a min salary offer and no playing time available, it would be hard for Spurs to get one.
- Getting a relatively good SG/SF is Spurs biggest need right now. They have been linked with Wayne Ellington, Rasual Butler and Tayshaun Prince. There are few others decent players that should be available for the min. I guess Spurs will only go after a player able to shoot 3's.
- A random 3rd string PG should be added. Spurs might decide to go with a combo guard though.
Cady Lalanne odds at being at the training camp seems high when you look at Spurs' history with late second round pick. In fact, he might have precisely been drafted because his agent said he was fine with him being stashed overseas.
I really want to see this summer with the french NT what Gelabale have left in the tank.
If he come back in good shape, he could be a really good pick for the backup SG/SF role.
Ellington is the only one that makes sense. Both Butlers and Tayshaun have nothing left in the tank tbh.
One of the actually good takes on the situation, everyone else crazed about LJC for some reason. There is no cheap shot blocking center they could 1) afford or would 2) get minutes with Duncan, Aldridge, Diaw, and West on the roster. The other two roles are important, especially the shooter. Probably withered old vets at this point...
