    - Getting a relatively good SG/SF is Spurs biggest need right now. They have been linked with Wayne Ellington, Rasual Butler and Tayshaun Prince. There are few others decent players that should be available for the min. I guess Spurs will only go after a player able to shoot 3's.
Just said this in another thread. With the team having plenty of vets, I'm sort of hoping one of the young guys pans out...like Graham or Eddie. Also, per benfti, the Spurs are keeping tabs on Aussie G/F Ryan Broekhoff. Supposedly the same source that said we were watching Baynes said we are watching him as well. He's playing with Denver's SL team in Vegas.

I really want to see this summer with the french NT what Gelabale have left in the tank.
If he come back in good shape, he could be a really good pick for the backup SG/SF role.
Gelabale has regressed a lot lately. He might very well be done being considered as NBA material. He has also signed a contract for next season with a team in France.

If Spurs are looking at adding a wing from Europe, the most interesting player might be Sonny Weems. He is a free agent and seems to be interested in coming back in the NBA. I'm not sure if a min contract would be enough but he is worth a try.

Weems for the min would be a steal, but he's on his way to Barca isn't he?

Livio Jean-Charles will stay one more year in France. It has just been confirmed by his team's owner who talked with Spurs about it.
It's your fault, Bruno. Had you not come back, I'm confident LJC would be a Spur.

Rasual Butler was super-hot from 3 for the first half of last season, then disappeared, but still ended up averaging 39%. Intriguing, but adding yet another old guy (he's 36) doesn't seem wise.

Source: Dallas Mavericks have expressed interest in Kevin Seraphin. He's also received interest from the Lakers, Wizards, Suns and Spurs.

The "French Connection" might give the Spurs the edge.

He's a bit undersized for the 5 but he's young and has more upside than the other available bigs. Could do a lot worse.

I'd like Seph. He's still young, teachable, and not a huge drop off if he got some playing time. I think we could get him and Bonner still.

What Luc Moute or something? Seemed like a good defensive player. But outside shooting probably a big issue.

Team does need a shooter. I'm ok with Fredette at that spot. Groom him into a Kerr like player. a 3rd guard who is somewhat of a combo PG/SG.

Just my guess, but with basically 4 spots to fill (since they seem to like to keep a spot open for needs/opportunities), I think they end up with:

    Bonner

+ a veteran PG who could be relied upon to step in and start for a stretch if Parker is injured (someone along the spectrum between a Terry Porter-type (a former all-star chasing a ring, but who can still play) and a Jacque Vaughn-type (an under-skilled and under-sized guy who competes and generally makes good decisions)). I tend to think they'd prefer some length here, with an eye towards using Patty more as a shooter in a lot of situations.

    +a project-type big with ,

+a younger guy with some promise as a 3-and-D wing unless they figure out a way to get Caron Butler.

Only PG in that role would be ball bustin Jason Terry I believe or Jameer Nelson (who still believes he's a starting PG in this league).

Why do you say seraphin is teachable? He hasn't been taught yet.

he's still young. You can teach anyone. Whether he is willing to learn is another issue all together.

When he played for french national team and then for a good ACB team during the lockout summer, he made huge progress.

Then he played two year for the Wizard, refused to come in national team (to work on his game during summer he said), and then stop making any progress in his game.
But this is probably not the fault of a great organization like the Wizard, who learned how to play BB to some greats young centers like Javale Mcgee and Andray blatche !

Is Cole Aldrich already with any team? He is one Baynes replacement, I think, the Spurs can consider as a 5th big. Donald Sloan is another guy to consider for backup PG and the 15th man could be either Reggie Williams or Jason Richardson. (But of course Matt Bonner and perhaps Dairis Bertans could round up the other spots).
