He's able to finish even with contact, I'm ok with that. From the clips on this thread, seems like a coachable kid. A steal for the Spurs!

Damn, I thought Spurs fans had a hard time cutting the umbilical cord with Speedy Claxton. But it seems like the attachment is just as strong with CuJo. Snip it!

In fairness, McCallum doesn't even have a friary yet. It's a small outdoor chapel.
CoJo can fade away into overpaid mediocrity. Over. ing. Rated. And, the longer he is gone, the better he becomes. He played four years for Basketball Nirvana, and I'm pretty sure he's just about at or near his peak. Go stagnate an offense somewhere else.

I like the move especially for nothing essentially.

Move Mills to sg only, with McCallum as the primary backup pg and sign Wolters as the 3rd string pg. 3 man rotation at the 2 gives Manu plenty of rest and puts Mills in his natural position. Manu will only last the year if he averages less than 10 minutes a game, imo...

Sign one more wing and done.
This is close. No reason to expect Tony and Manu to play 82 games combined this year. Maybe a vet that can make free throws.

He's not the fastest point guard ever, but he is definitely a gamer.

    He's a hooper.

Rob Diaz will be right there with me and 75% of Spurstalk when we are calling for this guy to start over Parker after he has a string of good games off the bench in...let's say...January.

That's just the way things are gonna roll. It'll inevitably seem like the ball/offense is moving better with "El Rey" McCallum in the game.

This happens with all of Parker's half-way decent back-ups.

He doesn't incessantly dribble laterally near the perimeter. That alone will put him above CoJo on most nights.

Bryce Cotton is lightning fast. I could've seen the Spurs getting some easy fast break points with him as the third PG. I don't know why they let him get away.

Bryce Cotton is a mini Iverson and we let him get away.
Yeah, but we talkin' about practice. Practice man, not a game, we're talkin' about practice, practice...

Ray is 2 inches taller and 28 pounds heavier according to Draft Express. Numbers will vary depending upon where you look, but there is a considerable size difference. Ray can at least pretend to play some defense. Bryce would be even smaller than our already two small guards. If Parker and Patty weren't already on the small side, maybe we roll with a wisp like Bryce. I'm glad they didn't. He's dynamic, but not so much so that he overcomes his size issue. Didn't look like much of a facilitator, either.

Because the Spurs already have two offense 1st pgs on the roster. I'm guessing they want their 3rd string pg to be more defensive oriented.

I don't think the bulk issue is as much of a consideration when we're talking limited minutes. You often just want a 3rd stringer who can be a spark one way or another. Cotton can do that.

I'll take your word for it. I disagree, and am glad they opted out of shares in Cotton.
