Spurs Sign Boban Marjanovic for 1-Year, $2 Million

The more I learn and see of this guy the more I'm looking forward to seeing him with the Spurs. Seems like a guy that will fit right in and give opposing coaches headaches.

He's got great hands, he's mobile, always adjusts himself to get in the right position. Very rare for a big like that.

I look forward to seeing this guy play Hibbert, who is infuriating for his stiffness and inability to rebound outside his position, but is still a smart player who is a good passer, etc.

Definitely the only team in the NBA that can get excited in an eclectic sense about a foreign based player. But he looks more and more like he'll fit seamlessly into the Spurs plans. He definitely has an acute sense to look for the open pass!

Sorry to keep being the Debbie downer, but I just watched big chunks of that game linked above to see how he looks in real games (and not just highlights) and must say I really do NOT see much of an NBA center. His feet are just WAY too slow, his movements too bersome, for the way the NBA game is played today. He gave up several easy buckets simply because he couldn't move his feet well enough defensively, and that problem will be magnified many times over at the NBA level. And forget about him defending pick and rolls or closing out on shooters, he simply will not be able to do it (and the defensive 3 second rule will also mess with him badly).

Hope I'm wrong, but I think he'll spend most of his time here at the end of bench before eventually returning to Europe. The slower Euro ball style is simply the better fit for him.

Spurs will just need to settle on a poor-man's Gobert because PATFO didn't make the gutsy move to acquire Gobert instead of Livio.

They also may have a similar bust in not taking Tavares instead of Anderson.

Lol. Red Star is the Champion of Serbia and Aba league.

3:0 in Serbia league finals and 3:1 in semi-finals of Aba league, against Partizan.

Partizan didn't played Euroleague last year and won't play next year.

you my friend, missed something.. in current time Zvezda is great team.. Last year 81 games, 62-19 score...Triple crown (Serbian league, Serbian cup and Regional league)..
Against Partizan, 9-2.. 3-1 in semi finals of Regional league, and 3-0 in the Serbian league final..

Red Star just got lucky this year. Everyone know that the true good team in Belgrade is Partizan and that Red Star is the small one. They also don't have a great coach like Vujosevic...
