    Okafor looks really good out there for a rook. Already scoring through double and triple teams. crofl at lakerz for taking a guard in a league already saturated with plenty of great guards with nothing but to show in the post
    HIV said they needed a PG to match up against Lillard, Westbrook, Curry and Paul. If Johnson says it, must be true. He's an oracle of NBA wisdom.

    He was projected top 20 pick but with injury issues,,Spurs get him and everyone thinks its a steal for the Spurs,,,bust. Not as bad as Randle,,,but a bust none the less,,
    You're an idiot. He wasn't a bust. He did better than expected, much better. He just didn't handle development well.

    For a 2nd round pick, hanging in the league and drawing a decent paycheck for 6 years is usually best case scenario.

    Its all subjective, 21,,,if he exceeded expectations than his expectations were really low since he has averaged a mere 7 and 5 over his career and probably wont be in the league when he hits his 30th birthday and the peak of his career,,,but we all have an opinion and there is no definite on what is or isn't a bust,,,

    Don't care what he did with other teams. He did fine in SA. He was in the Finals. He had a 20/20 game. He wasn't a world beater but he wasn't expected to be anything more than a role player. Just because he went south doesn't mean he was a bust out of the draft. Kwame Brown,he was a bust.

    It's too late to make that call. You do that after the 1st couple seasons.

    If he was a bust, the league is full of them.

    1st overall picks that don't pan out at all, those are busts, but even Bennett isn't a total bust, just close.

    I've said it time and time again,,,this dude is a one legged bust. He is Dejuan Blair part 2.
    Stats on 2009 draft: http://www.basketball-reference.com/draft/NBA_2009.html

    * Blair 37th pick, one of 28 from draft to play in all six seasons since being drafted.

    * 12th in games played.

    * 18th in points.

    * 3rd in rebounds and FG%.

    * 4th in rebounds per game.

    * 15th in win shares.

    * 7th in wins shares/48 minutes

    * career playoff PER of 24.4 over 42 games (Tim Duncan's is 24.6)

    Not a bust, Blair exceeded expectations.

    lol drafting a 6'9 PF who doesn't have any guard skills and doesn't have Blake/Amare-level athleticism either with the 7th pick.

    Lakers organization has fallen off and it is truly disappointing.

    The stats you just quoted showed that, relative to his actual draft slot, he's out-performed it. Late 1st-2nds are generally fringe NBA players. Some work out, most don't. For his draft position within his respective draft he's stuck for 6 seasons and performed about league average or better for someone getting his MPG and roe.

    Factor in he has knees and I'd say most execs and scouts would say he's out-performed their expectations based on tenure, and production within tenure.

    7-5 in sub minutes is nothing to dismiss so easily for a 2nd rounder in 17 mpg.

    Per-36 that's 16-11

    Is this out of the 60 players drafted that year? If so, these are lottery-pick worthy results. So, yes, it does appear the Spurs nailed the pick.

    From Grantland:

    When you watch summer league, the games don’t matter, and even the stats are misleading. You’re looking for flashes. One or two great plays from a rookie can be enough to talk yourself into believing he has a promising future. But Mudiay had those moments every other trip down the floor. The only other rookies who have looked that impressive are D’Angelo Russell and Karl-Anthony Towns. Before his ankle injury, Mudiay was supposed to be a high pick right alongside them. And right now, he’s showing why.

    This x1000. Final judgements on these rookies is silly. I saw Flashes from Towns, Okafor, Drussell, Mudiay, stanley Johnson. Heck even Super Mario and Porzings. I think all the guys will be varying degrees of good. I think Towns/Russell have the most upside but we shall see.

    Randle as bad as he played even showed flashes ...
