We only need two. If everyone's healthy, it will likely be Simmons and either Boban or Bonner, depending on how quickly they can get Boban comfortable playing backup center, or possibly depending on matchups.
There's been a lot of talk about our (new) players and the chances they might get next year. It looks like we'll be having a pretty deep roster (vet SG missing). Can't play them all though. Who do we think will start the season as inactive?
Bonner, Simmons, Boban?

I wouldnt be suprised if Manu will be off squad till December
Hopefully it's Bonner in a suit.
I want to see Simmons and Marjanovic get some burn right away. Fortunately, this is the path I see the Spurs taking, especially to allow Tim and Manu some rest.
that kid in your sig is giving me the creepssurely re ed?
(a) Spurs new players need to get familiar with the team. They aren't going to be sitting for first half or regular season.
(b) Rookies will need to get familiar, so I see at least Boban playing in the D-league. Simmons and Anderson also will be keeping themselves fresh in the D-league.
(c) Spurs will be resting Tim and Manu a lot. Boban subs for Tim, Simmons subs for Manu.
2nd team with Manu and Tim resting looks like this:
Bobi
Bobo
Kyle
Jonathon
Mills
Yikes! Still very scary team!
Oh.... McCallum subs for Parker.
close. Puerto Rican![]()
I'd be more than happy to be in charge of this list.
Bait...signed, sealed, and..

Don't the Spurs only have 14 filled spots? So that means only one person would have to be on the IR. I'd go Bonner.
so puerto ricans are re ed? ok gotcha.
Splitter finds a way

As of the 2011 CBA, you can have 13 players on the active list (as opposed to the traditional 12). With that, they should honestly extend the max roster spots to 16 players (13 active + 3 IL) IMO considering injuries have often forced teams to play less than 8 players but designate injured players as active so they don't have to forfeit the game. This would grant extra leeway
I see Bonner being inactive most nights if the roster stays at 14 for a while. Then depending on performance (Kyle, Simmons) and injuries (unknown) it could shift.
I'm gonna go out on a limb and say whoever is injured will be on the injured list. If we are incredibly lucky, and no one is, then Bonner will spend some time there, but it will be something of a revovling door.
Position/talent wise, it makes sense, but in reality, veterans (particularly one as well liked and long tenured with a team as him) are almost never inactive, let alone regularly. Just like they're rarely inserted into blowouts, at least if they haven't already played in the game.
I don't know why the league doesn't just use common sense and allow all 15 to be active.
