Why are you so scared of terrorists? You're 1000 times more likely to be killed by a cop or a crazy white guy with a gun than a "terrorist". And 10,000 more times likely to die in a car accident.

members of military being killed on our soil isn't exactly common. its newsworthy. it's much more likely to be politically motivated, and thus would be national news. some shmuck killing his family isn't relevant to the nation

Why is a suicide-per-day of a veteran not newsworthy?
Because it isn't "sexy" and won't attract eyeballs. It's just depressing. Maybe if a military person had some really intense suicide, it might be worth covering. But no one really cares about PTSD, blown off limbs, etc etc. Not many anyways.
