Could Bonner have been the best three point shooter in Spurs history?

Hopefully Jimmer can get back some confidence. He's had so many coaches the last few years. And he only averages like 7MPG how can a shooter find any rhythm when he hardly gets any playing time. In the spurs system, he will be great. He is a career 39% three point shooter.

Wait a second here... this announcement http://www.nba.com/spurs/spurs-sign-jimmer-fredette does not say what the deal is.

I mean, based on the celebration happening over at Jimmer's twitter feed, it's as if he signed some kind of guaranteed deal. https://twitter.com/jimmerfredette
I was wondering about this too. Is their precedent for the Spurs really announcing a training camp invite like this on Twitter? His wife's Instagram post as well: https://instagram.com/p/5dNS4Pxfab/?...hitneyfredette
I mean perhaps he's just excited to be on a team like the Spurs at least through October. Can't really complain about $50,000 guaranteed for just training camp. From my understanding even top tier D-League players only make $25,000. Its a good learning experience for him and if he gets cut, perhaps he can take what he learns and have a successful career in Europe.

I tend to disagree with the notion that Jimmer will be competing for a spot as I think it's really more/less already his spot. I think the Spurs think that too by giving him some guaranteed money up front. Eddie will be a d-leaguer; what's the sense in pushing out Jimmer for a kid that's not likely to get playing time unless there's injuries? Throw in the fact that you want to keep getting Eddie court time in Austin instead of making him a glorified towel boy.

Now, should the Spurs sign another FA, then yea, Jimmer will be competing for a spot.

Manu - Euroleague finals MVP, 6th man of the year
Fredette - National Player of the Year
    Leonard - DPOY
    Diaw - NBA MIP
    Aldridge - 4x NBA All-star
    West - 2x NBA All-star

Only players without an individual award are Mills, Green and Bonner. But all 3 are NBA champions.

    Team is loaded with excellence.
    Bonner 2010 '11 3 pt % leader 😉

All TC contracts get small guarantees for the most part. Cotton got $50k and was still cut. If they sign Eddie, Ndoye, Graham and the like, they'll get at least $20k each even no one but the first on that list has any chance of making the team.

We still lack a good, defensive big, TBH.

    Spurs would love to know

    A. Where to get one for the minimum

    B. Where that player is

IMO he reminds me a lot of Gary Neal. Undersized SG, who could possibly flourish in this system. However, Jimmer is a lot smarter player than Gary Neal.

Have to add McCallum was SL FMVP same as Simmons, but a year prior.
Also, wasn't Mills the leading scorer in the last olympics or something to that effect?
...and Boban --> MVP of the Serbian League
