If Kawhi ever leaves San Antonio, I'm blaming all the idiots who've just kept on calling him the claw or the hand, after he's said early on and more than once that he doesn't like those. And why would he? They're lame as , and label him like a freak.
Kawhi is so badass as it is.
Kawhi's not a systems player but he's definitely a role player. There's a huge difference between system and role, but saying that he is a role player is not a bad thing at all. He's top notch.
It's gonna suck when the elders retire but it will be interesting to see how Kawhi handles being the go to guy opposite LMA.

Kawow is probably the worst by far. I cringe every time I hear it during Spurs games. Dude has to stop that. Along with all those other horrible things he made up for other players.
I hate Kawow also. I don't know why the the spurs commentator has to say that every time. I've never heard Sean say it though.
Sugar K is ok. Don't they call him Whi-Whi though?
I haven't been here long but can someone explain why users like "The Great Yacht" are always criticizing or insulting Kawhi? Are they even spurs fans or just here to troll? lol
Kawhi came up with it. He then passed the idea to the branding team at Jordan, they polished it, KL agreed to the changes made and that's it.that's such a badass logo too....

One thing is acknowledging your hand as your logo but being nicknamed as something as The Klaw, Claw or Hand is ugly.
Is like nicknaming MJ as "The Spreader" or "The Leg Spreader" after his Flight logo.

THIS. In a few years, everybody will know "Kawhi", if they don't already. Guys calling the game won't even need to say his last name.
The only thing I worry about is the new parents during the "Kawhi era". There's going to a lot of Kawhi Martinez's and Kawhi Garcia's growing up in San Antonio.
The Claw or for this year, DeePOY. Or just Kawhi works too.

The Claw is actually a very suitable. Kawhi should lead the league in steals for quite some years. Very comparable to The Glove for Gary Payton.

Yeah, "The Glove" was a really cool nickname, "The Klaw" or "The Claw" is just as good. Not sure why people make up inspired stuff like "Sugar K".
I don't think he needs to follow the crowd by having some nickname - just "Kawhi" is much cooler. Everybody can have some nickname, but few of us have given names that are so immediately recognizable. BTW, "Sugar K" is not something people just made up. It is an homage to some giants in the sports world: "Sugar Ray Robinson"... then "Sugar Ray Leonard"... then "Sugar K Leonard"... As such, if we have to give Kawhi a nickname, that is the only one that seems very inspired, and I hope he lives up to.

It is a dumb name for basketball. In boxing, the word "sweet" has its own connotation. Heck, boxing is called "the sweet science", so sugar makes sense.
Shaq probably didn't make that connection when he nicknamed kawhi into "sugar k".

Kawhi isn't even a stain on LeBron's old boxers and if he were on those heat teams 2013-2014 instead of LeBron then they don't even get past the 2nd round of the playoffs. btw i don't hate him or anything as i'm not part of the player fanboy disputes and recognize him as a ceiling of the 2nd best player on a stacked/deep le team, or 3rd best player on a more shallow le team. Someone though has to interrupt the spurclejerk when things like kingslayer or durant's equal get tossed around
