Not sure if serious. Milutinov is staying overseas for at least 2 years, probably more.
Yup, I agree. I pretty much assumed the Spurs were in draft/stash mode with all the LMA rumors. It only confirmed that someone big will be signed or sought after when FA begins when they drafted Milutinov. With TD and Manu, there is a need for players who contribute now vs. later. Should be interesting offseason....4 more days till the fireworks begin.

I'm not surprised, but it was definitely an underwhelming draft. The minimal savings from this don't outweigh having a cheap, young contributor, something this team desperately needs. And then to not even get guys like Holmes or Frazier, for Summer League, makes no sense.

Milutonov might pan out in a few years and Anderson might begin to next season, but they need to start getting immediate value out of the draft. I realize they've been the deepest team in the league and arguably the best over the past four years, but you'd have to go back to '11 to find the last time they got a contributor.

If they find a way to sign Aldridge, while retaining Green, I almost don't care how they fill out the roster, but if not, this could look a lot worse in 7-10 days.

I am not surprised by these draft picks nor about having certain players that didn't get drafted invited into summer league team. The coaching staff probably has a general idea whom they are currently looking to evaluate that are either draft picks from previous seasons and players currently on roster that they want to take a closer look at.

Hanga, Anderson, Thomas, Lalanne, possibly LJC but that one is a bit of a stretch so far. Much easier to see other teams place them on their summer league roster where they will have a better opportunity to receive playing time and watching them play during summer league.

You have to think they (Spurs Staff) will be looking at other teams watching and considering whether x player would be worth inviting into training camp or signing to non guaranteed contract. Why go about inviting 10-12 guys when you are solely looking at 4-6 guys in terms of development and ceiling for your own team?

You only have so many minutes to work with for the summer league games.

The problem with milutinov is that if he put up some whight it could very easy hurt his quickness which right now is good for his size and you don't want to see him lose that advantage...

It is reported that his contract will have an "NBA out" option.

He is gonna get some burn under Sfairopoulos and Tomic ( asst. coach and a fellow Serb )

They've got Patric Young as their only true center, so minutes will be there.

Before this it appeared that Patric Young and Ot o Hunter would share the minutes at C. Besides we have mostly used "undersized" centers for the past 3 years(kyle hines, joey dorsey, bryant dunston) , so if this is finalized we would be going to a different direction. I still think that it is possible that Milutinov will be the third option behind Young and Hunter.

We'll have to kinda feel out Sfairopoulos and see what his proclivities are, but with Tomic in his ear i can very well see Milutinov in front of Hunter in the rotation. Still, too early to tell. You could be right.

The article at Eurohoops.net ( http://www.eurohoops.net/el/2015/07/featured-el/112243 -until now it is only available in Greek) states that "the players' side has talked to the Spurs and the advice he received is that the Greek club has one of the best programs for improving and developing young players ,through the parallel friction process at championship level ,with playing time at Olympiacos' roteison".

I'm not sure in that. In Partizan he were worked with probably best coach in Europe for devolment of young players. Dusko Vujosevic is first in this segment with Zelimir Obradovic. Especially in work with centers. But definitly it's better that he'll play in Oly better games vs stroner, euroleague teams.

Message Rob and he can maybe arrange a deal where he sends you some. He is the manager of one of the Whataburgers off of Culebra.
