Unless Ray is a star in the making, we need to accept that Tony is an important part of this team. Without him we dont get Timmy 6, tbh. Tony being back in shape is definitely a good sign that he's serious about this season
This is going to be a long off season with the same takes getting repeated daily...

That's not what you or Bryant said. Had you said that, I would have agreed. Tony is not a 3 point specialist. But, he has demonstrated that he definitely can transition his style of play later in his career to being a better 3 point shooter, and everything else that was said about his 3 point shot was incorrect.
Actually, now that I reread the second part of your statement, you didn't amend your statement as much as I thought with the "he didn't prove it". He did prove it. That's what all those numbers you two got wrong or want to ignore show. He has become a very capable 3 point shooter, while it still not being his primary weapon.

I couldn't agree more.
No, seriously, I mean....

Wow! What a head.
I don't know if shooting great for 2-3 months with above 50% and then after the Allstar break returning to your formar self with shooting in the 20% is enough to prove it...
He shot better the last 4/5 YEARS than he did the previous NINE years, except for one year where he shot .395. This is not a couple months that you are parsing out of his BEST year in some bizarre attempt to show that he didn't have his best year ever. If you pick your data correctly, you can show that he shot zero percent from 3. You're not trying hard enough.
He did have a year, but attacking his 3 point shooting exemplifies a complete lack of understanding that pervades your groups' arguments.
He led the team in scoring and assists during the playoffs. False narrative is false.
Apa and his idiotic crew would rather Parker suffer a catastrophic injury and count on Ray McCallum and a tired old Ginobili to carry the load as primary ball handlers for the team. Great basketball minds tbqh.
We won't get far without TP having at least an average season, and the same goes for Kawhi,Manu,TD etc.
Accept that
Internet tough guys jealous of the **** Tony hauls in
Big f'ing deal, do you want a cookie for mentioning that stuff ad nauseum for the last 8 months? Before he took his long hiatus Timvp made a thread examining the link between scoring, speed based point guards (Kevin Johnson, Isiah Thomas, etc.) and a sharp, drastic decline they suffer in their early 30's. Parker has maintained a high level of play throughout a majority of his time in a Spurs jersey, even with the playoff "failures," but all the basketball he's played (amounting to the career of a 37+ old veteran) was going to catch up soon rather than later. We'll have to see how he compensates for the loss in speed/quickness and if getting in better shape (which was never, ever his strongest attribute) can help lessen the effect.
Dated January 1, 2012 http://www.spurstalk.com/forums/show...+Kevin+Johnson
Adding to his point that I quoted:
Tony Parker - 30 (26)
The key word for Parker and the Spurs in 2016 is, "focus".
The key phrase, "Your focus needs focus."
So many gots in here.
Agreed, so many gots trying to defend a 1 point playoff perfomer with no data to back up their claims, eye test divas... smh.
wow, i thought Parker would be less radioactive after the season ends and the spurs got a big FA offseason haul. But nope. It's going to be 100% fun to troll y'all this year.
Look at what lame Apo is dragging up: 2014, fat, hates teammates, animal hurter. That's THREAD material there. LOL.
I expect Parker to be our 4rth best player this year. LMA, Kawhi, Duncan, Parker, Green, WEst. With Manu on a minutes restriction the spurs have no other playmaking guards. That's how he's head of the snake again.
Psss that snake has like 7 heads.
Legitimately curious to see if Parker adapts his game. Certainly hope so given that his extension just kicked in
The Clippers was the championship. We would have beat Houston. We most likely would have beat GS. And we would've crushed Cleveland. There's nothing to slow. Spurs blew golden opportunities in Gms 4 and 6 at home.
You could be right; but I doubt Parker was meaning to insult his American fans. I think another poster said it right; that he had meant to say that he was going to his first whatever that team was called game.
Then again, I wouldn't put it past Parker to be an uppity ass.
Spurs have become Tiamat.. Dragon with many heads... Cept not evil
I think Parker was being snarky too. Intentionally using the word soccer as a jab.... I've been to 3 Scorpions games, I had fun, but yea the quality of the game itself was impoverished lol
Game 7 had lots of ery at the end
Unfortunately, the one game of the series I was unable to see. Hopefully, someone posts a link of the game at some point.
I wholeheartedly disagree.
