I mean the other potential options for that 15th spot are Jimmer Fredette and Reggie Williams...not exactly defensive juggernauts![]()
Tbh, if the Spurs are so desperate for shooters that they would sign Jimmer Freedette, it's not hard to envision a scenario in which they would pursue Mike Miller, a player they've expressed interest in previously.

The only way the Spurs bring him in is with a training camp make good deal. At this point in his career, he's going to expect a fully guaranteed deal for the season. Spurs probably won't do that. We have plenty of vets anyway. 15th spot should be for a young player with some upside.
Holy he must have been really bad if they kept Fat Chalmers who was awful in the 2014 Finals and was suppose to be replaced by him.
True, but at this point the Spurs have the offensive power they need on the 2nd unit, personally I think the 15th spot would be better used on a prospect of 10 days on someone with some defensive potential
They have more than half of their team on an auction right now in order to shed from the tax, or try to get under the threshold. Almost everyone bar Wade, Bosh, Dragic, Winslow and Whiteside can be had for 30c on the dollar. They can't even attach picks to get rid of Deng's contract, which would solve a lot of their problems with the tax![]()
Lebron calling for the Heat to draft him then running.
Nah! I expect Orlando possibly thinks Napier has more potential, being new to the league and a known NCAA scorer/shooter. He had some good games during the course of the season. Chalmers is probably not generating interest from anyone.
Lesson for the Cavs tbqh. They'll be left in a couple years with a garbage team overpaying on garbage players well into the lux tax as he begins to decline. Kobe 2.0...only with GM power. Good for the Spurs tbqh.
Yeah but Miami would say it's worth it for two championships. And the Heat is worth more than anything they are paying out in the tax. Cabs value is way up with LeBron.
Warriors trade Wallace for Jason Thompson. Nice little trade for them.
Great fit for GS, either in the Speights role of 15-20 mpg PF off the bench or as a quasi-smallball C. Lacks motor and energy, but playing for a contender can remedy that. JT is a skilled player who was stuck on bad rosters for all his carreer. Look out.
Yeah Jason Thompson is a nice pickup.
Darn. That's a very good trade for the Warriors. I wanted the Spurs to get Thompson the past couple of seasons. How much money was he making?
Guy sucked in the d-league. I've been an NBA fan for 35 years, and I'd be shocked if he ever saw year 3 on that contract.
Why sixers helping out the warriors, warriors answer for David West?
Thompson won't play much (when it matters).
I would have thought that his game as a 3&D player would translate better but the longer 3 point line seems to have affected his shooting quite a bit. He'll get plenty of offers back in Europe.
I liked a lot Papanikolaou when he was in Europe but like for the other SG/SF, adding him makes or makes not sense depending on how Spurs view Simmons and Anderson.
Oh, he's definitely Spurs material, through and through. Doubt he stays in the US, though.
A better passer better shooter KA...
Lol, no. Not even close. Papa is an energy guy, off the ball wing , good ball mover, good defender. He can't handle the ball or create from the PnR. If he could extend his shooting range to the NBA 3, he belongs in this league.
The Machine signed with the Knicks.
