At least at that price. Congrats, and seeya later CJ.
Well it's not better to have nobody on the roster instead of Corey ...

CoJo, the new Nando DeColo for Toronto!
Baynes and Joseph might have gotten the two most surprising contracts this off season.
I know he's from the greater Toronto area and they've been looking for defenders, but I don't get why they gave him this much. It's difficult to imagine someone was going to pay him anything close to this, since he's more pure backup PG than third guard. Granted, with what they're paying him, I presume they view him as that. But they also now lack a go to scorer/creator off the bench and he's more caretaker than that.
Even though it was inevitable, he's a relatively big loss, if Parker can't stay healthy. Since Mills is essentially an SG on offense, he can't really start and whatever fringe player ends up being the third PG obviously won't be good enough to, either.
Wow, the Spurs are so screwed after spending all that money on Aldridge. The only players they could get on their budget were Manu Ginobili and David West. I wish our FO would just listen to the resident Laker fan.
Wishful thinking is a huh?
CIA Pop saw my post then went out and signed West. Son of a !![]()
Heh. It was a pretty weak-suck move, trying to piss on this year's roster, before the roster was even filled - and then claiming you just want to "talk hoops". You never really had much of a chance, even before Manu and West signed. After today, you're just going to have to hope someone gets injured.
Speaking of injuries....
Seriously, I'll give you credit for trying. I know you really do know basketball. Believe it or not, I probably give Kobe more credit than most people here, and it's a shame that he's probably going to leave the game this way. Not that I mind a few years' respite from worrying about the Lakers in the Western Conference.
You have to admit, this year's Spurs roster is looking pretty damned salty now.
2004 Lakers
2012 Lakers
They BOTH were veteran stacked teams that were supposed to win. IJS![]()
I've thought about that many times in the last couple of days. Especially 2004, because the similarities are impossible to ignore. I've made several posts about getting the pieces to mesh - started a thread about it. (It got about 3 replies.) If I remember right, Malone was injured and the Pistons were probably a bad match-up. Personally, I think some of the personalities involved were a negative, no matter what they said to the press. The biggest difference on this roster, I hope, is that Aldridge and West, the two big FA signings, are relatively young. The older guys have played together for a long time, and Pop makes a point of resting them during the regular season.
This roster is good, but winning a le always takes some good fortune. Still, I like their chances with a good roster better than without.
And that was still a weak troll attempt.
CoJo getting shouted out on new Drake record. The kid made it.
Kickball too

Playing soccer in Jordan XI Tuxedo's, what an odd decision.
"He’s been a godsend for us with the second unit," Casey said. "He’s who we thought he was. He’s learning guys’ [tendencies], I think he’s so used to throwing it to [Tim Duncan] or [Manu] Ginobili and getting out of the way, he’s got a little bit more to do with our team."
Yeah, good pickup for the Raps. Him and Lowry when playing together are a very energetic backcourt, even if lacking in size.
Always knew we were going to lose patty or cojo after that extension by porker
Patty/CoJo was a good PG duo when Parker was out, tbh.
That was an element we kind of knew. Cojo played better without Manu. Manu needs the ball to be at his best, and so does Cojo. His aggressiveness got stifled if you had him spotted up bc that was not his game. The Spurs system was not tailored to him, he wasn't exactly the best fit and he merely played a limited role within it.
In another team, where they can (and probably need to) give him the ball or ask him to do more, he's been more aggressive and made more plays. It highlights an aspect of how much guys do need to play together to get a sense fir each other and Cojo was in and out with different guys and in different roles depending on who he played with.
I am happy for Cojo having a larger role and shining. Pop really wanted to keep him. It just wasn't possible and it was probably best for Cojo TBH. He's too good to depend for playing time on Tony and Patty having an off night.
^^ Ya, many of us said that during the off-season..I wasn't even a Cojo fan, but it was evident that he was afraid to be himself when he was on the floor with Manu and Parker, for whatever reason(fear of messing up, probably)..
I just find it interesting that a coach echoed it, though, since I don't recall Pop acknowledging it..
Anderson will suffer from the same problem, unfortunately..
I agree. I thought he played very well with PG who can shoot like Patty and Cotton in the dleague, and he's good running Pnr with the big s and finding cutters, he's even set up Manu on cuts, but if you have him spotted up that is unfortunately not his game. He's hopefully working on the 3 though bc regardless of his ultimate destiny, with his size, length and passing ability, if he could should the 3 he will stick in the league even if it's on another team, like Cojo.
Manu is about to retire though and he will need help even if he doesn't. Cojos situation was different bc he wasn't going to bump Patty and Tony is not close to retiring.
i think it was really wasteful to let Cojo walk in free agency. The Spurs coulda got a 2nd rounder for him, at least.
