Terrible comparison. Terrible thread.
A declining Hall of Fame big 3 + a pair of stars in their prime + a pretty good bench.. Hope this eerie similarity doesn't play out
(2013-14 Nets actually)
Terrible comparison. Terrible thread.
This team is so different from the '13 Nets that it isn't even funny. That Nets team was a bunch of washed-up ballhogs who were all hype and no substance.
This Spurs team is a well established Big 3 which is still going strong (and a single year removed from a le), surrounded by new talent which is team-first and should fit in perfectly with the established system. Throw in a few hungry and budding young athletes (Anderson, Simmons, McCallum) and one of the best coaches of all time.
Obviously, a le is never guaranteed with any team...but if this team draws a single comparison the ing Brooklyn Nets outside of this thread, I will eat my Tim Duncan All-Star jersey.
Actually, given the star power and championship pedigree surrounding our team, a better comparison (at least in terms of hype) would be:
![]()
The only thing comparible between the two teams is the color scheme that the Nets copied from the Spurs. Other than that, the Spurs are leagues better.
If the damn `13 Nets were such a super team, it must be really damn painful to still lose early in the Eastern conference playoffs..![]()
You dont say that
They were a recollection of cancers, washed up players and a rookie coach, they were so bad that sucked in the east.
This is more like Boston 2008 LMA and Kawhi are in good age, Sam Cassell is Manu, Glenn Davis is Boris, Parker is Rondo, David West Perkins, etc.![]()
So Deron/Lopez = Kawhi/LMA?
Holy , I can hear how stupid this thread is.
+ Joe Johnson, Garnett, and Pierce. Star-studded. And they had Jason Terry off the bench, who was still pretty good. And Reggie Evans, Kirilenko, Shaun Livingston, Blatche, Teletovic, Plumlee to round out their bench.... pretty darn stacked IMO.
So which one of kawhi/ LMA only plays 500 minutes?
Just stop, you're making this worse.
Sounds exactly like a certain point guard, tbh.
-Joe Johnson was playing w/ planter fasciitis & looked as done as 2014-15 Parker
-KG was mailing in games & can't be compared to Tim
-AK47/JET were done for a couple of seasons before the Nets signed them
-Teletovic was a rookie specializing in shooting air-balls to start out the season
-Kidd was learning how to coach on the fly & had to resort to spilling drinks on the court
-Deron was hobbled w/ a variety of ankle injures & Lopez was out for the season
.....even then after the all-star break they were rolling once Kidd figured out the team & Livingston moved into the starting lineup. Had they been healthy they would have given the Heat a run for their money instead they had to depend on Blatche, lol! The current Spurs squad is more similar to the 84-85 Lakers than the 13-14 Nets:
-Pop/Riley
-Tim/Kareem
-(Kawhi+Manu)+SlowMo/Magic
-LMA/Worthy
-Danny/Cooper
-Tony/Scott
-D-West/McAdoo
-Bobo/Rambis
-Patty/McGee

There is virtually nothing comparable between these Spurs and the Nets/Lakers, tbh, even if we are speaking strictly from a personnel standpoint and ignoring the coaching/environment, etc..
what strain of weed did you smoke before you posted this? must've been some good , i'm down to try it.
Here at UNT, the long buses run on the weekdays and Saturdays during the fall and spring semesters, and the short buses run on Sundays during the fall and spring semesters + every day during the summers.

you knowing when the short bus runs would explain your basketball take in the thread.
Hey if I'm out of milk and it's Sunday and I need to get to walmart... I'd rather not walk...
