This isn't rocket science. No one is at all obsessed with Kobe except for Laker/Kobe fans. On this board, his name is mentioned a lot and threads started because the biggest group of non-spurs fans is Laker fans.
It's really not that hard to figure out. When you couple the above fact with the fact he's a joke and no one likes him you get common sense chatter about him.
But it's Laker fan that always defends him and buys into everything he and the Lakers tell them. Lakers are basically Philly, but have somehow sold Laker fans on what they have done 2+ year running which is incredible manipulation.
It's fun watching what was one of the greats fall into mediocrity.
