Actually, norway doesn't really "rely" on oil money. You might want to do a bit more reading. The saved up the oil royalties for years, and built up a sovereign wealth fund with it. Actual oil revenues today are vanishingly small part of their budget.
Both countries rank among the highest in terms of life-expectancy, well-being, and, well, happiness.
Say what you want. Both are also better about improving the lives of poor people than the US is. The US, despite the propaganda of the right, really sucks at moving people up the income/wealth ladder.
The "land of opportunity" really isn't, especially for the poor.
