I just don't see winning more than 55 with all the new faces and the predictable Mills for a Wing mid-season trade.
Why do morons on here speculate about us trading the only reliable point guard on the team?!? If we do that, we might as well trade Aldridge and Leonard, hire Duncan into the FO, and start tanking and rebuilding already.

We only have 8 games instead of 9 on the RRT for the first time in over a half decade, IIRC.

Obviously now it would be absolutely disappointing/compromising if the Spurs pull a Heatles 2010/2011 season start (9-9), tbh..

You guys are either doubting how seamless Lamarcus will fit or the level of our bench talent with David West added. We're gonna win 65+. And we've got a shot at 70.

Rachel Nichols calling out LMA on being a cheap ass!
A rolex lol LMA said he would take Bowen out for dinner.
Draymond Green also asked Curry for an expensive timepiece as well during his MVP speech.

    My predictions ...

    Oct/Nov
The Season start (Oct/Nov) is pretty easy and I expect the Spurs to go 14-4 in that stretch. Losses probably come in the season opener against the Thunder and on the road against New Orleans and Chicago (sadly all these are nationally televised games). Like Spursistan I have scheduled a loss against the Wizards ... its the Spurs 3rd game in 4 nights while Washington had 3 days off. Highlights will be the home games against the Blazers, Grizzlies, Mavericks and Hawks - all wins IMO.

    Dec
This month has 16 games scheduled and the Spurs can go 13-3 there. Losses will probably occur in Memphis (b2b) and at the christmas game in Houston (as if we ever win there), the third one might be in Atlanta which is the 2nd night of a b2b. The other opponents are not that interesting, the only highlight I see is the game against the Clips and I guess the Spurs will win that "revenge game" at home.

    Jan
Only 13 games in January, but business starts to pick up here. I go with a 10-3 record for the Spurs. They will beat the Rockets at home (2 days rest before this game), but may lose to the Bucks two days later. I just think the Bucks look solid and the Spurs always have some troubles in Milwaukee. As always we play in Detroit on a second night of a b2b, so this is just the game the Spurs lose every season. I see the Spurs win both games against the Cavs as the away game at Cleveland will be a b2b for the Cavs while the Spurs had 2 days rest. The game at Golden State is a toss up, so I go with the home team.

    Feb
That month includes the RRT and of course the All-Star break. I see the Spurs winning all six games prior to the break - the only test being the Mavericks in Dallas. After the break, its only 3-3 for the Spurs ... probably losing in LA against the Clips, a b2b in Utah, and in Houston (yes, I have no trust in the Spurs beating the Rockets in Hou). Pretty lackluster month - Spurs go 9-3 (5-3 on the RRT).

    Mar
After 3 days of rest Spurs start with a b2b. The second game is in New Orleans, but the Pelicans also play a b2b, so I think the Spurs win it. This will lead into a 13 game winning streak. Many see this month as a tough stretch. Yes it is, but many top teams (OKC, GS, Mem, LAC) will be played at home with enough rest to pull this off. The losses will come at the end of the month - one at Oklahoma (which is a b2b) and then two night later in Memphis. Ok, 14-2 during that stretch sound way too optimistic, but I hope the Spurs engine is running on all cylinders by then.

    Apr
In the last 7 games of the season I predict the Spurs going 5-2. This time they win in Utah (2 days of rest before this game), but lose in Golden State. The Nuggets season will be over and so a b2b win in Denver is likely. The Spurs will redeem themselves against the Warriors with a home game win as GS plays the night before in Memphis as well. The Thunder are also on a b2b when visting San Antonio, so that it is another W against a good opponent. The second loss will likely come in the season's last game in Dallas. Its a b2b, starters will hopefully rest ...

That makes a 65-17 overall record which hopefully is enough to secure 1st or 2nd seed in the West.

I don't think you realize how difficult it is to win 65 games, much less 70 To put it into perspective, there have only been 17 teams in NBA history that have won 65+ games, and only the '96 Bulls won 70+.

I don't think 65 wins is out of the question, but it'll be extremely difficult and I think it'd be dumb to bet on that. And acting like 65 wins is the low end prediction is just ridiculous.

I'd be thrilled with anything above 60, and it wouldn't surprise me at all if they end up in the 56-58 range.

A good shot at it. I think Warriors fall back to Earth a little trying to repeat, so 62 may be enough for the 1 spot.
Last season they lost their 4th game on December 23rd..now look at that opening 5 games for GS ..With no Gentry input and bit of Champion's coasting, they could really get off to a slow start right here..They have bunch of guys, like Draymond green, whom winning a chip will get into their head..Let's face it, last yer le has come relatively easy for them..

I think you're right that they could have 3 or 4 losses before mid-November. It'd really help the Spurs get out of the gate by comparison.

Now, let's all pray for Spurs health!

With unbalanced schedule like this we can be in a problem later, we really need to have a strong start and some great winning stretches before the rude last 30 days, and that's what worry me cause it's not what Pop like to do with his team and moreover now when having a new team together...

As much as I want my Spurs to run away with home court throughout with an outstanding reg season record, we are just not that type of team that goes all in in the 82-games slog (big picture and whatnot..),..Even when our core were young and in their prime, Pop never totally invested reg season record chasing a la Phil Jackson where our mid 2000s teams were more than capable to post wins totals in high 60s..

I think Pop will pay more attention to seedings than last year but it won't be at the expense of health and gradual assimilation of new pieces into our team.. I truly believe the team's ceiling is that of 64-67 wins, but if things work out seamlessly for us we will likely be in 60-63 wins range..

    bump..

that early softish schedule is a boon looking at the period of adjustment this team will be going through, especially our D...you wouldn't want to stumble out of the block with poor record and play catchup in the West..
